America requires public self-humiliation and humility from Russia

“In English there is the word“ engagement ”. This word is mentioned when we want to talk about establishing closer relationships. We want to establish, among other things, parliamentary relations because we have common problems, ”Rand Paul TASS quotes.
He also outlined an approximate range of issues of concern to Washington and which could become a priority topic for discussion. These are Syria, and “other hot spots”, which should be understood as Ukraine, and, possibly, Afghanistan.
At first glance, it sounds very good and encouraging. Indeed, is it not time to move from meaningless confrontation to dialogue and begin to negotiate?
However, just a few days before Rand Paul’s speech, other US senators announced a new sanctions package against Russia, because, in their opinion, the current sanctions regime could not keep our country from interfering in the upcoming US 2018 elections of the year, as well as from other “aggressive actions Against America and its allies.
The draft law provides for the introduction of new restrictive measures against Russian citizens involved in “illegal and corrupt activities” (from the point of view of Washington).
In addition, it is planned to impose a ban on trankization associated with the sovereign debt of the Russian Federation, the introduction of sanctions on all energy projects in Russia or with its participation, as well as a ban on US citizens to participate in oil projects in Russia. At the same time, sanctions may be imposed against any resident of Russia.

The project was signed by Senators Lindsay Graham, Bob Menendez, Corey Gardner, Ben Cardin, John McCain and Gene Sahin.
It is noteworthy that the senators suggested considering the possibility of granting Russia the status of “a country sponsoring terrorism”, punishing the Russian government “for the production and use of chemical weapons"(As is known, Russia destroyed all its chemical potential in accordance with the commitments taken). And also create a special fund to counter Russia.
It is possible, of course, to assume that this initiative is the work of Russophobes who are distraught by irrational hatred. But the problem is that they determine the political agenda of the United States. And, according to experts, the proposed project is likely to be accepted. The maximum that can be expected is only to soften its certain points.
In addition, as we see, the US State Department is working in the same direction, while continuing to bring new, even more absurd accusations against Russia. Recall that 5 August official spokesman Heather Nauert reported that Russian charge d'affaires in the US Dmitry Zhirnov was summoned to the State Department by Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell because of Moscow’s allegedly “aggressive” policy towards Washington.
Nauert said that a comment was expected from Zhirnov “on the Kremlin’s attempts to use social networks to promote violence and division in the United States,” adding that the United States “would not tolerate this aggressive intervention.”
Against the background of these events, Rand Paul’s complacent statements suggest political schizophrenia, or rather the dissociative disorder of the identity of the American establishment, when one hand does not know what the other is doing.
A number of observers explain this phenomenon by the fact that the American political elite is deeply divided and resembles characters from the famous Krylov fable about the swan, cancer and pike.
Perhaps this analogy is appropriate in relation to certain aspects of American policy, but in relation to Russia it stands quite harmoniously. Since the goals regarding our country are the same for most of America’s political elite, discrepancies can only occur in the question of methods and selection of tools.
In turn, our people experience some amazement regarding American political movements, mainly due to a lack of understanding of the political "newspeak" used in the United States.
So, for example, “cooperation”, which the State Duma Rand Paul called for, is perceived in our country as mutually beneficial joint actions based on parity agreements. However, it is enough to turn to stories The United States, in order to understand that they can only brutally exploit other countries, it is simply impossible to talk about any mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as about the fulfillment by Washington of its obligations, if it is unprofitable for it.
This is contrary to the very "spirit of America", according to which everything that is for the good of the United States is for the good of all humanity. And the better the Americans take care of themselves, the better all those around them.
In light of this, the proposed cooperation with the United States is a selfless, hard and unselfish work for the benefit of the United States with the complete rejection of its own national interests. As in the days of Gorbachev, Yeltsin and the “early Putin”, when Moscow sacrificed a number of its interests in Central Asia for the sake of the American “fight against terrorism”.
Americans can not be friends and cooperate - they can only command, command, coerce and punish.
And in the context of this, the desire to establish closer contacts with State Duma deputies should be understood as the establishment of full control over the work of the Russian parliament.
And this wish for Americans does not look strange, especially after July 5, for the sake of people accepting sanctions against Russia, State Duma deputies interrupted the meeting and stood applauded by American senators and congressmen who visited the meeting room.
Recall that the delegation from the United States arrived to meet with the heads of the State Duma, the Federation Council and the Russian Foreign Ministry. When they visit the lower chamber of the Federal Assembly first deputy. State Duma Chairman Ivan Melnikov, seeing foreign colleagues, interrupted the speech of the Auditor of the Accounts Chamber and asked the deputies to stand up to greet the guests.

In order to finally get rid of any illusions about the “facets of cooperation”, let us pay attention to Washington’s demands for Moscow to abandon “sponsorship of terrorism”, “production and use of chemical weapons” and from “inciting national and religious hatred in American social networks.” The point here is not only that the Americans project their own sins onto us, but also that they require us to confess and repent those “sins” that we did not commit (and this is well known to the Americans themselves).

Thus, an act of public self-humiliation and absolute submission to Washington is being sought from us. What will be regarded as a manifestation of readiness for "cooperation".
