In Ukraine, presented the next version of the BTR-60

The Ukrainian Company of Defensive and Radioelectronic Technologies ”(“ KORT ”) demonstrated its version of the modernization of the BTR60, reports bmpd.

In Ukraine, presented the next version of the BTR-60

The presentation took place on the production site of the enterprise. The car received the designation BTR-60MK.

According to a company representative, the work is carried out in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by means of an overhaul with modernization. Thus, the company plans to meet the needs of the army in armored personnel carriers.

He said that the BTR-60MK is being developed in close cooperation with the military. The armored personnel carrier received two reliable and cost-effective CUMINS diesel engines (as in the text), which allowed it to limit itself to minimal interventions in a regular transmission and to provide the car with excellent driving and operating characteristics.

In addition, the issue of enhancing the reservation of the car with a slight increase in its weight due to the installation of modern European armor plates has been resolved. Currently, work continues on the mine protection of the bottom.

The BTR is supposed to be equipped with the combat module of the development of the Nikolaev plant, which will have “duplicated guidance and aiming channels”.

The developers also noted the large export potential of the armored vehicle.

Using the experience of Ukrainian engineers and Western technologies will help to press Russia confidently on the market for the modernization of Soviet technology in many countries around the world, and to ensure Ukraine’s economic growth, the company said.

Okay, the original designation has not been changed. With their tank building and acquired armored personnel from Europe, this says a lot.

Ukraine is more interesting. There is now more political news and about pensions. In addition to the YAKs, the site also missed the bookmark at the Eastern Shipyard of three Karakurt, the tow of the next Buyan-M and the patrol officer of the 22160 project. By the way, our BTR-60 are also upgrading.
BTR-60ПБМ - Russian modification with KamAZ-7403 diesel engine (260 hp). Replaced the tower on the BPU-1. The protection of armored personnel carriers has been enhanced by a package of additional passive armor, a new PPO system and collective protection, as well as a life support system. The radio station has been replaced by P-168-25У or Р-173 with navigation equipment "Gamma-2". New commander and driver surveillance devices, new bulletproof tires, new jet propulsion and improved seats

Well, apparently because this is not news, but the usual routine work. Here the Dagger with Poseidon and other gadgets is something new. And the Yak-130, yes he, or rather its radio-controlled copy, even in the states, became the first at the World Cup.

IMHO. This is probably at a right angle and in one place. It is unlikely to get from the KPVT twice to the bottom of the place. Our regiment in the First Chechen in 1994-1995 was on the BTR-70. New Year 1995 was celebrated in Grozny. It turned out that the BTR-70 with a gasoline engine pair is a very reliable car. When hit from RPG-7 and SPG-9, the crew most often remains alive, and the car is not a fact that it was hit. Shell fragments (and this is the main means of destruction in modern warfare) also do not cause heavy damage. Mostly the wheels are full of holes.

By the way, about mine protection: because of its design, it was precisely the sixties in Afghanistan that opposed mines better than the lower and flat-bottomed BTR-70 and BTR-80. Here it is only necessary to strengthen the floor, and the shock absorbing seats should be attached to the sides, and not as in the original.

Sorry, this BTR 60 PB device does not want to ride on one engine, even without a generator it’s slower, but it goes until the battery is completely discharged. It can go without one front wheel, this is all based on personal experience. Maybe you were not taught that way, no offense only.

What can I say? Ukrainians are great. As the saying goes "the dog barks, the caravan goes." For 4 years they have gained good combat experience, the intellectual forces in the design bureau also have, as well as the preserved school of armored engineering. to the extent of financial forces they are modernizing, there will be money, there will be new developments. It is insanely sorry for the people who have been burying Ukraine for 4 years, sincerely believing that there is complete degradation. Under the silly hee-hee, we don’t notice how the Ukrainian military-industrial complex is gaining momentum and modernizing the army. Illusions are very expensive in the end.

Regarding combat experience, I can say that it is practically nonexistent. This is not war - this is business. The design bureau is no longer there - they ran away and many factories closed up, which previously worked for the defense industry and no one is going to restore them. The cartridge plant has been under construction for four years, though it has not yet begun - the details are "shaking". Basically, there is a "cut" of the budget of the Moscow Region - a trillard of bucks with a signature stamp - secretly - steal, fit into it.
