The Academy of the General Staff created the Center for Military Games.
The military department noted that classes in CVI will help students of the academy during command and staff exercises to most likely visualize the tasks of operational deployment of troops and conduct operations at various levels.
From the civilian simulator "academic" game will be distinguished by maximum accuracy. Units in it are real-life units of the Russian army. Databases about the probable enemy are formed on the basis of actual intelligence, and battle scenarios are developed taking into account the latest experience of combat operations, the material says.
All computers of the Center are united into one local network, which is technically comparable to the networks of the National Center for Defense Management.
According to military expert Viktor Murakhovsky, the information base of the game center is formed using a single source data system, which collects all the information about the state of its troops and the alleged enemy. Information is constantly updated, including on submarines and ships that are in long hikes.
Taking into account these data, students are offered a rally of all kinds of situations, including armed conflicts and emergency situations. Moreover, each "player" solves problems in accordance with the role assigned to him (staff category), the expert said.
He also noted that the system has two main modes. One allows a person to fight with artificial intelligence, the other provides for a virtual war between students.
