The General Staff acknowledged the erroneous transfer of thousands of officer positions to non-commissioned

In the Armed Forces of Russia, more than five thousand sergeant positions are expected to be transferred back to officer categories, Interfax reported, citing a source familiar with the situation.
“In the General Staff, together with the personnel department of the Ministry of Defense, we are working on the issue of transferring a number of non-commissioned officers to the officer category. To these primary command positions, first of all, will be graduates of military schools who complete their studies this year, as well as those young officers who now serve in sergeant positions. The total number of sergeant positions to be transferred to officers is more than five thousand, ”said the agency’s source.
According to him, “in fact, the General Staff recognized as erroneous, although it does not advertise this, the transfer in 2009 of the primary officer positions in the platoon-battalion link, as well as in the security and technical services of the types and types of troops as sergeants.”
“It came to the point that in the brigades of the Russian army in recent years they could not keep armored and automotive vehicles on alert. After all, not only sergeants-contract servicemen, but also sergeants of military service, who did not have any specialized technical education or experience in working with equipment, took the positions of technicians of the company and the fuel and lubricant services, ”the agency’s source added.
