Grozny "Poseidon": "live" shots of the Russian super-torpedo appeared
25
In March of this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin presented several breakthrough armory systems that are designed not only to restore the nuclear parity of the United States, but also to significantly enhance the capabilities of the RF Armed Forces.
Already then there were suggestions that the "new weapon of Russia" was nothing more than a fiction. However, then the Ministry of Defense demonstrated the test frames of the dagger hypersonic aircraft complex, as well as the video of the Sarmat strategic missile missile tests. After that, the skeptics diminished.
Now the Russian military department has published the first “live” images of the strategic ocean system Poseidon. Its feature is the presence of a nuclear power plant, which provides unlimited range of this supertorpedo. Due to its characteristics, it is almost impossible to detect and destroy.
The main task of "Poseidon" will be the fight against enemy carrier strike groups, as well as the destruction of naval bases on the coast.
