Fighter MiG-29 Polish Air Force crashed last night. According to the latest data, the collapse of a Soviet-made fighter occurred in the Warminsko-Mazursky voivodeship, which in the north borders with the Kaliningrad region. The Polish press did not initially report the fate of the pilot. Now it became known that the Polish soldier was killed. This information was officially confirmed by the head of the Ministry of Defense of the country, Mariusz Blaščák.
According to Blashchak, a formed commission of the Ministry of Defense and other departments works at the crash site. The territory where the wreckage of the Polish Air Force fighter is located is cordoned off by local gendarmerie officers.
On the Polish TV channels, meanwhile, they report that MiG-29 was carrying out a training task to intercept two single conventional targets. At the moment of interception of one of them, the board stopped communicating with the "tower".
It is stated that at the moment in the main defense department of Poland decided to suspend all scheduled flights of MiG-29 planes to the Air Force of the country. At the same time, it was noted that the measure was forced - due to the investigation of the causes of the tragedy.
Recall that the working subcommittee of the former head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Antoni Matserevich, a few days ago once again announced that “traces of explosives” had been found on the wreckage of the Tu-154 victim near Smolensk. Matserevich continues to claim that the explosives could allegedly have been laid during the scheduled maintenance of the Tu-154 Polish Air Force in the Russian Federation. The vast majority of Polish citizens do not believe in this nonsense, believing that Matserevich is only being promoted by the tragedy.
