Soviet submarine C-12 discovered at the bottom of the Baltic Sea

The report says that the submarine that sank in the Baltic Sea was discovered by the crew of the newest sea minesweeper “Alexander Obukhov” during a survey of the bottom near the island of Bolshoy Tyuters. It is assumed that this is a C-12 submarine of the Soviet Navy, which was killed in the Baltic during the Great Patriotic War. This was possible to establish with additional inspection and subsequent comparison of the data obtained with the tactical and technical characteristics of Soviet submarines. The boat lies on an even keel at a depth of 70 meters.

The command of the Baltic Fleet decided to conduct a special exercise at the spot where the submarine was located, during which additional identification will be carried out.

The C-12 is a Soviet diesel-electric torpedo submarine of the IX-bis series, C is the “average” of the Second World War. 18 August 1941 of the year was commissioned. She conducted military operations in the Baltic Sea, repeatedly received damage. 30 July 1943 of the year C-12 under the command of captain 3 rank A.A. Baschenko left Lavensaari (Powerful Island) and in the morning of August 1 reported on charging at Cary Island. Further, its path lay to the deep-water passage near Naissaar Island, which the Germans blocked with a line of bottom mines. No one heard anything else about the boat, nor about the 46 members of her crew.

To raise the standing C-12, which is level on the keel, is the experience of raising large objects and putting it into the museum, as a tribute to the crew, to honor the dead sailors with a mass grave ... The depth is 70 meters, the most working for rescuers ...

You can’t raise it. According to the law of the sea, a sunken ship together with a crew is a grave that cannot be touched. Designate on the map, put the buoy, so as not to accidentally damage the passing ship, and render all due honors to the dead.

If possible, it is possible to lift. After all, planes are raised along with the remains of pilots from the war. Yes and the Yankees lifted part of our boat in the Pacific Ocean, then buried the dead with military honors.

To ships, a special relationship. Tanks, planes, solitary military graves, and even mass graves are to be transferred to a place that is carefully guarded. Abandoned anywhere will inevitably be ravaged and abused. The sea mass grave is untouchable. It is protected by international law.

It is fortunate that they found a Soviet submarine during WWII! The dead sailors probably never even dreamed about it! If only they could get the remains of the heroes — they must be inside — and bury them humanly with military honors!
They have a bright memory from the people - from those people and their descendants whom they defended at the cost of their lives in the depths of the sea from fascist invaders!

But what about the right in relation to K-141 "Kursk"?
After discovery, if it is declared a memorial - then no one does. Otherwise, the decision to upgrade depends on profitability, safety and expediency.

This boat had a weapon and a reactor, in close proximity to the sea routes, and representing a danger. It's not about profitability. The most important factor, of course, is political motives. Further, military secrets.
The boat that died in that war is hardly a danger to others. There is no need to disturb the grave.

My comment related to the words "Under the law of the sea, a sunken ship with a crew is a grave that cannot be touched."
Nuclear submarine Kursk mentioned only how The most famous ship lifting project in recent years. To decide whether to raise or declare a memorial does not depend on any right (with the exception of lifting vessels in the sovereign waters of other states, as well as those belonging to other states before their death), this is primarily a matter of expediency. If the Russian Federation (as the heiress of the USSR) declares as a memorial a vessel (for example, a Soviet-era Great Patriotic War) found in the waters of another state - with all the desire, this state does not have the right to raise the vessel, no matter how profitable this project is. Something like that I understand and I wanted to express this idea with my post. I did not speak about any rise in S-12.

Of course, raising a boat and burying the dead submariners on the earth - this is both a tribute to the dead sailors and the fulfillment of the Chrysian tradition. But, the problem is that there is nobody and nothing to lift it in the Baltic. The maximum depth of the Baltic rescuers is 60 meters. They cannot go deeper. Therefore, it remains only to mark a place on the map and passing by to give military honors to the dead.

A bubbling stream boils with foam, crowning our separation.
Before your eyes, your favorite scarf - a white scared seagull.
Pour a tear to the blue of lovely eyes, nibbling with gusts of wind.
Tenderness does not express the fervor of phrases,
    My throat is longing kilometers.
    Any weather! Submarine leaves.
Fulfilling the order: “Stand guard until the end!”
Do not cry, dear! I promise to come back to you!
Going down under the water, we leave hearts here!
The skin groans under the water, as if sighing through the house.
Our love is a talisman from misfortune, I grieve - an obstacle to anyone!
The service is harsh night and day. The shift is difficult and indefinite.
Fidelity of hearts serves us as a beacon, bringing the hour closer to the lesson .......

    CHORUS: the same

The boat, breathing oxygen into itself, emerges after six months.
All my feelings are an invisible flight to the one that will wait from the campaign ..
Slightly unusual hardness of the earth. Weasel in a sparkling gaze.
We reliably carried our watch. Me, you and the blue sea!

1.) they mined the line-created for action in a difficult situation.
    2.) The enemy aircraft dominated.
So ... we’re going under water ... in neutral water ... how much strain there is in only one line, but they were going to scream at the breakthrough of the German positions in their communications! Let the submariners talk about them only, and let the rest like crucians extracted from the mouth.

The command of the Baltic Fleet decided to conduct a special exercise at the spot where the submarine was located, during which additional identification will be carried out.

It would be nice to conduct exercises on raising the boat. Then it would be much clearer.
