Modesty and penetration of rural memorials. Appeal to readers

Monuments and memorials in memory of the unprecedented feat of the Soviet people, the Soviet soldier during the Great Patriotic War, are silently standing across our vast Motherland. And there are these obelisks and sculptural groups not only where there were fierce battles, but also in territories where there were none, but from which people who had made their invaluable contribution to the common Great Victory went to the front.

And if memorials in large cities of Russia are recognizable by millions of people, and not only citizens of our country, then memorial compositions in the Russian outback are far from great glory. And this is not their main task. In fact, this task is not to be known to many, but to preserve the memory for future generations who will live in their small homeland. And it is also worth a lot.

"Military Review" thanks all those who created (creates) modest memorials in the outback and on their own keeps them in decent condition. This work evokes a feeling of respect, because it is he who is the basis for preserving that very national memory and national identity, which in our country is so closely intertwined with history Great Patriotic War.

We present several memorials in memory of the soldiers of the Red Army who lay down their heads in battles against the Nazi invaders. it rural memorials that are not in the guides, and to which thousands of tourists will not incur flowers. But this fact does not detract from the value of the labor of their creators.

Village Mazepivka Rylsky district of Kursk region. Once the estate of Hetman Mazepa, later (after his betrayal) was transferred to the princes Baryatinsky. Mazepovka, by the way, is the same age as St. Petersburg. Modest and neat obelisk in memory of the Battle of Kursk. The bas-relief inscription reads: In this place, in the days of the Battle of Kursk, the soldiers of the 322 rifle division stood and defeated the enemy

Modesty and penetration of rural memorials. Appeal to readers

A stork against the backdrop of the rain sky, under which 75 fiercely fought years ago:

Tambov Region. Zherdevsky district. Chikarevka village. Not so long ago, an open memorial with the figure of a soldier holding a hand-held PC in the upward-extended hand:

The memorial was opened on the 85 anniversary of the formation of Zherdevsky district.

Voronezh region. Borisoglebsky urban district. Village Chigorak. Memorial in memory of those killed during the Great Patriotic War:

The study of details by the sculptor and artist draws attention to himself:

Voronezh region. Novokhopyorsky district. A modest and yet surprisingly heartfelt rural memorial complex:

And there are thousands of such memorials all over Russia. Yes - these are not monumental works, but the fact that they exist and that they remind the young generation of the great feat of our ancestors is difficult to overestimate.

We offer our readers to share photos of other memorials from the Russian hinterland. May this be our common modest gratitude to those who maintain obelisks and monuments in proper condition.

On both sides? Highways or opponents? If it concerns the Nazis as opponents, no one called them here ..

x Pronin of the Seraphimovich district of the Volgograd region. Here, in the mass grave, my grandfather is buried. Until 2015, it was considered missing. We did not know anything about him. Many thanks to all who helped us in his search and preserved for us the memory of him.

And how many of them are all over Russia. And how many are there in all the former republics of the USSR. Every fifth conscript did not return home from the war.

Even as a child I went on vacation to my aunt, the village of Muromtsevo, Vladimir Region. There she stood, but I hope she still stands, stepped with the names of local residents who did not return from the war. Almost 50 years have passed, but I still remember! Eternal memory!

Where, what exactly, when exactly was demolished? Facts. I do not like when they break.
In one Ural village, a monument to Lenin was stolen (for scrap). The cybercriminals were found, the monument was returned. Now Lenin stands in his old place, but with hefty bolts in his shoes.

From here, from the village of Nyvky on 5 on March 1942, a partisan convoy with food for the defenders of the besieged city of Lenin went to the front line. The thrilling picture of these 200 carts that on the dense roads with the greatest danger to the life of the cart drivers, unknown collective farmers are bringing food for the brothers in Leningrad will forever be remembered.

Once upon a time, in another life, here I was accepted into pioneers ...
    And this is modernity ...

May 9, 1975 was in the Guard of Honor at the opening of the monument in one of the villages of Moscow region, not a small such village. The name of the village was erased from memory, and the event was forever in my heart. A small monument, and the names were beaten out many times more than all those who gathered, although, probably, the whole village gathered.
Have to travel often. On the road to Chuchkovo, where the GRU team used to stand, there are stands in front of the entrance to each village. Well conceived! There are almost no villages, and the inscriptions read: Hero of the Soviet Union, two Heroes, a full gentleman of Glory, two ... from there. Ah, it’s like that all over the country.
Great is the Feat of our people!
PS Then we worked well! We trained specifically for this event, probably a week. They even did test volleys (who doesn’t know, the volley should sound like one shot). After the rally, the captain grabbed his head. Some surrounded us with a bottle, some with a snack .... wink

During the service in the Caucasus, with the approach of the holiday of May 9, they received the task of putting in order the grave of our pilots who crashed in the mountains. Settlements there are radish and abandoned. We traveled to the UAZ for several hours, then walked for a long time. What was our amazement when we found the grave and monument well-groomed. It turns out that the students of one of the schools in the area have never left her unattended. Thanks to these guys and their teachers.

There are quite a lot of monuments in Novorossiysk. And not only about the Great Patriotic War, because the city is rich in events. Some are widely known, others are more modest in appearance and location. But not by value. Here are a few of them. This is a monument in Tsemdolin, a suburb of Novorossiysk. There was a place of execution of civilians and Soviet prisoners of war.

Monument to the fallen in World War II. It is a figure of a soldier, bowing his head, kneeling down. The background is a wall made of granite. On the wall there are plates with the dates "1941" and "1945". In front of the pedestal there is a stylized “Eternal Flame” in the form of a five-pointed star, on the pedestal there is a sign “Glory to the heroes who fell in battles for their homeland in the Great Patriotic War”. The project was completed by SpetsPark Design, sculptors P. Ignatiev, D. Prasolov. The monument was unveiled on May 7, 2010.

In the village of New Devyatkino on the territory of the military unit on the 30th anniversary of the Victory over fascism at the initiative of officers G. Sinelnik and Pushkin V.P. the monument "Glory and Immortality" was erected. The sketch of the monument was made by M.K. Anikushin. Later, the monument was dismantled by the command of the unit and taken to a new location in the city of Kerch. When developing the project, the view of the old monument was taken as a basis. The project was commissioned by the Administration and the Council of Veterans.

A small monument dedicated to the children of the victims of the war, including children stolen from the Kuban by the Nazis. 170 thousand people were stolen from the Kuban, including 45 thousand from Novorossiysk. By August 47th, 87 thousand had returned to their native places, including 25 thousand children. At the time of the opening of the monument in 2015, 3,5 former juvenile prisoners lived in Novorossiysk.
My family is back completely. Mom was a little girl, born in 1940.
