A division of Belarusian paratroopers arrived on Saturday in the Krasnodar Territory to participate in the joint exercise "Slavic Brotherhood-2018" сообщает The Ministry of Defense of Russia.
In total, around 250 military personnel and more than 40 units of vehicles (BTR-80, MAZ vehicles) arrived from the city of Vitebsk (Belarus) to participate in the maneuvers.
In honor of the arrival of their colleagues, Russian paratroopers held a ceremonial event at the Tonnelnaya railway station, and then all together as part of the convoy proceeded to the Raevsky training ground.
The guests were stationed on the basis of the new autonomous field camp (APL-500) of the 7 Guards Airborne Assault Division.
The press service of the department explained that the NPS-500 is a small town of a closed life-support cycle. When deployed in a short time, the necessary infrastructure is created for the long-term or short-term stay of the military formation of up to 500 men. It is possible to connect the town to the general electricity grid, cold and hot water supply.
It is also reported that the joint exercise, which started today at the Rayevsky training ground, will last until June 28. The maneuvers in which paratroopers from the Russian Federation, Belarus and Serbia take part will be led by Russian General Alexander Vyaznikov, deputy commander of the airborne forces for peacekeeping operations.
