Estonian company Milrem Robotics has entered into an agreement with the European association MBDA to jointly develop a robotic anti-tank system, reports bmpd.

Image of the robotic anti-tank system developed by the MBDA European Union and the Estonian company Milrem Robotics.

It is assumed that the MBDA IMPACT missile module created by the European company will be adapted to the THeMIS self-propelled crewless tracked platform developed by an Estonian company.

The remotely controlled combat module is equipped with a launcher for two anti-tank guided missiles produced by MBDA and a 7,62-mm machine gun. For guidance missiles used thermal imaging system type IIR. Also in the development of implemented the principle of "shot and forget." The target's hit range is over 4 km.

It is reported that the system will be optimized primarily for the conduct of hostilities in urban areas.

Estonian Milrem Robotics has been promoting the THeMIS platform without a crew for several years. Product weight - 1450 kg, weight of the transported load - up to 750 kg. The platform is equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric engine with a battery. The maximum speed without load is 22 km / h, with a full load 14 km / h.

The duration of the movement THeMIS on diesel fuel - up to 10 hours, on a lithium-ion battery - up to 1,5 hours. It is controlled remotely, can also make autonomous movement along a given route.

                Such devices are self-evident.
Make a self-propelled (or even flying) platform, and stick a grenade launcher and other weapons to it. Such will be done by all and sundry, even with crooked hands. It is called a "combat robot."
They are also being developed in Russia. And even in Syria are tested in real conditions

hi ... universal platform. For both civilians and military:
Multiscope UGV provides faster, cost-effective, and flexible solutions for the commercial and industrial sector, including civil engineering and logistics applications. Multiscope is ideal for industries that wish to eliminate physical risk to their workforce and want to benefit from automating processes.
The Crawler Hybrid Modular Infantry System, or THeMIS for short, is the first hybrid fully modular unmanned ground vehicle in the world. The car is designed to provide support for dismantled troops, serving as a transport platform, a remote battle station, a unit for detecting and removing explosive devices, and much more. The open architecture of the car gives it the multi-purpose ability that is so necessary on the modern battlefield.

In my opinion: it’s not very expensive for civilian needs: civilian tasks can be solved by cheaper means. But for the military it looks quite promising.

In my opinion, until new energy sources are invented / created or existing efficiency is not brought to significant values, such devices will not be widely used.
In the future, there will be many similar techniques.

To put an ATGM and a machine gun on one turret for a city tank is beyond professionalism. He either needs to fire at the infantry behind cover (the 7,62 caliber is also weak), or to carry out the equipment. At the same time, he will not be able to do this with such a concept. 12,7 mm machine gun would be just right

If you want to find complete information specifically on anti-tank systems, look at the website of MBDA, a very serious and completely non-Estonian organization.
Well, judging by the pictures, feel free to look for the TTX MMP, aka "Missile Moyenne Portee"

Strictly speaking, the MBDA is not French, but European, an analogue of Airbus in the field of guided weapons.
And the chassis is just the most Estonian. And very original. It has many advantages relative to the "classics", the main thing is a low center of gravity.

But is it really good? it is positioned as a technique for conducting urban battles ... you probably watched a video with recent urban battles in Syria in Yarmouk. Will it be able to work in such conditions? or is it intended to conduct urban battles in peacetime, when the city is not yet destroyed?

For the city, this feature is not particularly suitable. The guys from the MBDA took the path of least resistance. Stupidly, they took a not very popular combat module and put it on a ready-made platform.
Personally, I would have done in their place on the same platform a removable remotely controlled launcher. So that it was possible, for example, to drag high-rise buildings onto the roof. Well, the machine gun for PU medium-range missiles is definitely redundant. Especially when you consider the possibility of using this anti-tank missile system with a closed fire, with guidance after launch.

But how anti-tank in the fields, such a thing is very good. Anti-tankers cease to be suicide bombers. Although I personally would have increased the number of missiles to at least four, too often I will have to take them to the rear for loading.

If such a toy beats at least one tank, it has already paid for itself.
No need to hang a lot of weapons on her. So that if it is destroyed (or captured), it was not a pity. The Russians also made good wedges, but too large, in my opinion.

And you try such a whistle to ride our gully ravines. Or just drive through the ruins of a brick house. Or in the dirt near Moscow.
I don’t argue, in your opinion, what the Russians did may be a bit big, but do not forget that all the armies of the world are focused on fighting with irregular formations of barmalei in slippers in a desert as flat as a plate :) Again, can you imagine What horizon is half a meter high?

But seriously, if, then so far there is nothing but a really interesting chassis that can be seen. Driving through checkpoints is a task for the 7th grade of high school.
In my opinion, the most interesting application is a fire bot. This is really the case.

A good and original platform for a remotely controlled complex for mine clearance in urban conditions of abandoned bags, packages, etc. etc. In the field, this unit is better not to release, because due to the characteristics of the chassis, it will get stuck in the first rut.

Multiply by 4 transitions on both sides + 32 to the underground passages + 22 who did not understand the language and left for the swamp. Exactly - 1000 pieces can be accumulated.
