Czechoslovak BMP production - BVP-1

Virtually all serial weapon and military equipment in the Soviet Union was supplied to friendly countries and the Warsaw Pact countries, some of which produced this equipment and weapons themselves under license. Czechoslovakia at the beginning of the 70-s mastered the production of BMP for its own army with the help of Soviet specialists. The infantry vehicle received the designation BVP-1 and almost completely repeated the Soviet BMP-1. After this, an independent modification of the BVP-1 was mastered:
- Base machine BVP-1 (Czechoslovakia);
- OT-90 armored personnel carrier (Czech Republic);
- combat reconnaissance vehicle - BPzV (Czech Republic);
- IFV with a 30 mm KUKA gun of German manufacture - BVP-1MA (Czech Republic);
- BMP "Tania" - a prototype (Czech Republic).

Czechoslovak BMP production - BVP-1

In addition, on the basis of BVP-1, the following machines were created:
- reconnaissance vehicle with a lifting mast device on which surveillance equipment is installed - BVP-1РРК "Snezka" (Czech Republic);
- Advanced artillery observation machine - BVP-1LOS (Czech Republic);
- self-propelled anti-aircraft installation of the twin type - BVP-1 STROP (Czech Republic);
- Mortar self-propelled installation caliber 120 mm - PRAM-S / SM (Czech Republic);
- self-propelled demining machine - SVO (Slovakia);
- evacuation ambulance car - BVP-1SM and BVP-1S (Czech Republic);
- command and staff vehicle - OT-R5; MP-31; VIP (Czech Republic);
- mobile communication complex - MPP-40P;

Machines based on OT-90 conveyor:
- reconnaissance vehicle - VP-90 (Czech Republic);
-minny stacker - MU-90 (Czech Republic);
- sound station - BVP-1B Boure III (Czech Republic);
- command and staff vehicle - ZV-90 (Slovakia);
- machine technical assistance and support - ZT-90 (Slovakia);
- reconnaissance vehicle - DP-90 (Slovakia);
- Advanced artillery observation machine - DPK-90 (Slovakia);
- maintenance and repair machine - DTP-90 (Slovakia);
- infantry vehicle with 30 mm gun, created jointly with Belarus - Cobra-S (Slovakia);
- machine technical assistance and support - VPV (Slovakia);
- evacuation ambulance car is created in different versions, both tracked and wheeled execution - ZDR (Slovakia);
- project of infantry "Zubr", execution - 8х8 or 6х6 with 25 mm gun (Czech Republic).

At the start of the 90s, under a conventional weapons treaty, Czechoslovakia pledged to reduce the fleet of combat vehicles. In order not to lose the technology, the machines will be reequipped and converted into machines of special importance, in other words, they will modernize and modify them. So, from the BVP-1 appeared OT-90 armored tracked carrier, which was equipped with towers from the OTR-64 BTR. And already on the basis of the tracked vehicle they create special purpose military equipment.

The collapse of the Czechoslovak state into independent Czech Republic and Slovakia forced them to "divide" their resources, military equipment and weapons. Therefore, at the beginning of the millennium, the Czech Republic was in service with a little more than 800 machines BVP-1 / BVP-2, near 450 transporters OT-64 / OT-90, Slovakia was armed with 476 machines BVP-1 / BVP-2, a little more 200 OT-64 / OT-90 transporters. At this time, the infantry fighting vehicles of the Slovak Armed Forces will most likely not be removed from service, and the Czech Republic’s infantry fighting vehicles will be constantly modernized and will continue to be modernized. They will become modern BMP. Machines based on OT-90 and BVP-1 are subject to the same modernization.

Our days
At the last exhibition IDEB 2012 in the capital of Slovakia - Bratislava, several options were presented for modernization that are in service with the BVP-1. They will be able to give cars a new life and extend their operation in the armed forces. Now the Slovak armed forces have 308 machines "BVP-1" of which only seven dozen are in operation. Slovakia, having no optimal military budget, cannot acquire the latest models of light combat vehicles. Therefore, the provision of its 14-ti thousandth army will be rather a modernization of existing weapons and equipment, of the newest BMPs, only Cobras, built together with Belarus.

Excalibur Army Upgrade - MGC-1
The presented vehicle is provided with reactive armor and grenade launcher grilles. The armament is remote, the TURRA 30 FCS, a 30 mm 2A42 gun and a 7.62 mm PKT machine gun. It is possible to install other guns, an example of which is the American-made Mk44 gun. In addition, the IFV can carry ATGM launchers. The TURRA 30 FCS is equipped with a laser rangefinder, a thermal imager, a stabilizer, and a TV camera. Inside, the upgraded MGC-1 looks quite modern. Externally, this vehicle looks very unusual and fantastic. The turret part weighs about one ton, and has STANAG 4569 level XNUMX armor. It can be reinforced by installing additional protection modules.

Modernization from BAE Systems - BVP-1 with a tower "Tactical Remote Turret"
BAE Systems displayed a demonstration model of the BVP-1 with a TRT turret at the PPS Vehicles stand. The turret is controlled remotely. The turret can be equipped with 25mm or 30mm guns. The turret on display was equipped with a 242mm M25 Bushmaster. It is possible to install anti-tank missiles missilesRepresentatives did not disclose what ATGMs could be installed.

      There is no own production, it’s expensive to buy. As an option it will roll. For me, the Belarusian version is more or less

        If a projectile or ATGM, or an RPG grenade falls into dynamic defense, then a soldier within a radius of 30-40 m will sweep away fragments after the explosion of a DZ package.
        The question arises: why is the BMP so dangerous for its own soldiers?

    The brothers Slavs use our kindness. Another photocopier appeared, apparently the Czechs could not create their own.

      to create your own, you need to have brains (that is, research groundwork), money (I assume that more than in the case of upgrading a ready-made sample) and time (it will take much more time to develop a car "from scratch" than development of a modernization program) ...
      so that for a long time "new samples of armored vehicles" will appear, subtly (or even clearly) reminiscent of the samples of the times of developed socialism winked

    In the mid-seventies, he received 6 pieces of BMP of Czechoslovak production in his reconnaissance platoon instead of the BRDM-2. A few months later ALL (!!!) "left" on the complaint ... cracks appeared in the towers AT ONCE, some of them had a palm. However, it must be admitted that the cars were neat ... welded seams, painting, leather straps ... unlike those that came later, but of our manufacture. Ours served faithfully until the transfer to a new duty station. So that.

      In 1989, OrdzhVOKU received BREM-CH, excellent equipment, quality of production, "foreign car", after acceptance it was immediately covered with an awning in the training box and sealed, in the classroom we were shown a nearby BMP-3 and the "foreign car" was even uncovered.

      In Hungary, in our troops, the same were armed with both our BMPs and Czech-made ones. Visually, Czechs differed from Soviet-made BMPs in 4 triplexes for the driver's mechanic (ours had: one with visibility right in front and two slightly to the sides [like the T-80], while the Czech one was still 90 degrees to the left) . For me, this is a plus: a wider overview.

        I can also add that the quality of the BMP of the Kurgan assembly was much more reliable.

    Younger brothers 'carry on' equipment after the older ones, in general, such as the Czech, Slovak, etc. for show, for a couple of days maximum weeks of fighting. All Slavs need to unite into one country, only together we are a force capable of bending anyone.

    "Reactive" armor?? Probably active? Such protection as well as the grille is appropriate on a tank, but to use it on an infantry fighting vehicle, which is sewn with a 30 mm machine gun, is stupid at the very least.

    The Czechs have always produced high-quality, reliable and highly effective equipment. Including the military. So, despite the fact that these are copies of our BMP, in terms of build quality and operational characteristics, the Czech "beha" will in no way be inferior to Soviet-made machines ...
    This is not China with its clones, and in Czech technology, the nodes and mechanisms will not crumble in the first thousand keme, and will go as much as was laid in them ...
    In general, well done, that does not allow their defense to be taken away and are trying to slowly advance to the light armored vehicles market. By the way, the most saturated, crowded and competitive arms market among military equipment ...

    Chicot 1, it's true that the Czechs have always been good technicians, during the 2nd World War, they churned out high-quality equipment and a lot of it - they even earned praise from the Wehrmacht command and the Adik - personally!!!! By the way, the Czechs were then one of the main "merchants of death" in the world!!! And their Pragas and R38s were better than the German Panzers!!! That's what kind of Slavic brothers they are - damn them!!! Yes

    we had our KShMki (p142) and "Hungarian", like everything is the same, but the Hungarian was more convenient for operation ..
