Vladimir Putin explained that additional measures to stabilize gasoline prices will be taken by the fall of this year. Control over the situation with the prices will be assigned to the government and the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS). Also, to stabilize prices, it is possible to increase export prices for fuel.
The Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Alexander Novak, assured the president that the rise in prices for gasoline and diesel fuel had been stopped, and urgent fiscal measures taken by the government helped. He explained that from 30 in May, the price increase was stopped and will be stabilized until the autumn. Novak also noted that there is no fuel shortage in Russia and is not foreseen in the near future.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak also reported on this issue, who explained that to date all Russian oil companies are fulfilling their obligations to stabilize prices. He stated that he had met with all the leaders of leading oil companies and agreed to freeze fuel prices. Monitoring the implementation of agreements in the energy industry is conducted daily.
