Poroshenko: peace in Ukraine does not mean capitulation in the Donbass
According to Poroshenko, he, as president and supreme commander, will make every effort to bring peace to Ukraine. But this does not mean “surrender to the Russian aggressor”.
However, he noted that there is another extreme, which he does not accept - an adventurous large-scale offensive.
Any other suggestions can be considered.
The President said that the attack in the Donbass "will take the lives of millions of Ukrainian heroes." And the world on Russian conditions will inevitably entail the loss of Ukrainian lands.
In his understanding, peace is when the Ukrainian flag and Ukrainian sovereignty will be returned in the Donbas and in the Crimea. And the first step towards this goal, according to Poroshenko, will be the decision of the UN Security Council to bring peacekeeping forces to the east of Ukraine.
The president spoke at the Yamnitsky Lyceum in Ivano-Frankivsk region. While he was giving his speech, several students became ill, the publication of the UNN reported. One child lost consciousness and fell. He was assisted on the spot. Three others were cast aside.
