New provocation. Ukraine has arrested a Russian ship dredger
On the website of the Prosecutor's Office "Pechora" (PECHORA) is called the "instrument of crime", with the help of which Ukraine suffered significant damage. The arrested vessel is intended to compensate this damage.
It is reported that since the summer of 2015, more than three hundred flights of this vessel-dredger to the ports of “temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine” have been recorded after the probable loading of sand in the area of illegal mining. The decision to impose the arrest was made by the Ukrainian court 16 May.
According to the prosecutor of the “autonomous republic”, the damage from illegal activities amounted to about 250 million UAH, “not counting the damage caused to the biosphere of the reserve”.
The ministry stressed that the illegal activities were carried out "in the exclusive maritime economic zone of Ukraine - in the area of the Karkinitsky Bay of the Black Sea, namely, the botanical reserve of national importance" Little Philorphic Field "."
Apparently, the arrest was imposed in absentia, since the owner of the vessel announced today that “Pechora” is “alive and well” and is currently in the home port of Sevastopol.
TASS in his commentary reminds that on April 10, in the framework of the same case (on illegal mining of sedimentary rocks), a Ukrainian court arrested SeaBreez, also owned by a Russian company. As explained in the Consulate General of the Russian Federation, only two Russians were members of the crew, all the rest were Ukrainians.
In March, Ukrainian border guards arrested the fishing vessel "Nord" in the Azov Sea. The entire crew (10 people) - residents of Kerch. The captain is accused of committing a crime, which is “violating the procedure for entering the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and leaving it in order to harm the interests of the state”. He faces imprisonment of up to 5-years. The rest of the team members were subjected to administrative penalties in the form of fines.
