Kim Jong-un smile? Or fanged grin?
The Americans at Trump use the methods of diplomacy learned by Trump in the business, although they resemble the methods of fine-cut brothers in leather jackets from the 90's. The essence is simple: the “goof” is sought, who needs to be “milked”, “hitting” is carried out on him, if he “bends”, then they begin to “cut” and “shoe”. If the sucker turned out not to be a sucker and did not fall for primitive layouts and defiantly playing "volyny", and he also showed his own, with a larger caliber, then he is not a sucker, but a "clear kid" and should be left behind and look for the next. Such is the method of busting and they act. We ran consistently on the European NATO allies - it turned out, albeit partially, then to Russia and Syria - it didn’t work, to the DPRK - it didn’t work, now it’s not Iran either. Then, probably, they will find something like Venezuela or Cuba - they will try them "weakly". Or go to the second or third round.
And then suddenly, when all the methods of military-political pressure on the DPRK did not materialize, there were suddenly signals from Pyongyang about the readiness to curtail the nuclear missile program, and even after successful launches of ICBMs and a hydrogen explosion at half a megaton. They even agreed to close the test site, forgetting to mention that it still needs to be re-digged - after the hydrogen explosion (or with a tritium nuclear charge, according to a different version) of the explosion, advertisements collapsed. In addition, the rejection of further tests may be temporary, or else the DPRK from somewhere had the necessary volume of statistics on nuclear tests, to continue to develop only in subcritical experiments and supercomputer simulations - like all nuclear powers now. From where But who knows something? And who knows - will not say. But on 6, the statistics are definitely not tested, China and 45 did not have enough, and the French had more than 200.
In the United States, such a readiness for negotiations was perceived exactly as they should have been - as weakness and readiness for a “plum”, that is, they expressed what they wanted to be. And the weak need to be added, Trump knows this perfectly. And the progress on the part of Pyongyang was perceived solely as a victory for US policy, the result of the sanctions regime, military and military-political pressure, which supposedly frightened the DPRK leadership and forced it to capitulate. In general, the next "victory in the Cold War," followed by a rash.
So the United States began to put an ever-growing set of demands on the DPRK in exchange for the rather dubious idea of denuclearizing Korea on its part. After all, the B-61 bombs taken out can always be returned back, if the storage facilities are not destroyed, and if they are destroyed, you can bring them temporarily. By the way, the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Korea is a violation of the ceasefire agreement in Korea signed after the Korean War. There is a ban on the deployment of new types of weapons, and the United States violated it in 1958 by placing the first nuclear weapons. North Korea from this Agreement came only 2 a year ago.
Yes, and the United States also has other nuclear weapons, albeit related to the SNF, they do not need to be in Korea for use in the DPRK. But the destroyed nuclear missile potential does not return quickly. Moreover, the fool Bolton went further and demanded the "Libyan" version of the DPRK denuclearization. And then Kim Jong-un quickly showed his teeth, explaining that the “young leader” was not holding such an uneasy country and its imperious top in the hands of such a difficult country — a dynasty but a weak one there would have been quickly devoured by generals and party members if he were avatar of Kim Il Sung himself.
The DPRK announced to begin with the abolition of the planned negotiations with South Korea, which were scheduled for 16 in May at the government level. The DPRK recalled that it did not promise anybody to give up its nuclear missile potential, but merely stated its “desire” to denuclearize the peninsula, which it confirmed during negotiations with South Korea. And that this process can only be phased and take ... well, in general, a very long time, until "when the cancer on the mountain whistles." Yes, and all these "aspirations" - the usual diplomatic chatter type of desire, say, to world peace. Summit with another Korea canceled on the basis of the Max Thunder 18 US-South Korean Air Force exercise - they are held with 2009. In 2018, they should take part around 100 combat aircraft, including X-NUMX F-8 fighters and strategic bombers B-22H . The DPRK Government Central Telegraph Agency (CTC) called the exercises "rehearsal for the invasion of the North" and a "blatant challenge to the Panmunjom Declaration and deliberate military provocation contrary to the positive political development on the Korean Peninsula," Pyongyang said in a statement. Although more recently, the Air Force held larger exercises, with the 52 aircraft of the two countries, and the DPRK were then treated with "understanding." And the large exercises of ground forces, which were postponed because of the Olympics, which began on April 320, also did not cause a sharp reaction of the DPRK at that time. Although at first the Americans hinted that the teachings of Foal Eagle and Key Resolve could be canceled this year, and then they did not cancel anything. Moreover, if we consider their quantitative parameters, they are even a bit larger than the exercises of the past year. In 1, 2017 thousands of troops participated in them. including 320 thousands of Americans, this year 15 thousands and among them 323 thousands of Americans, although the duration, which is usually 23 of the month, has been shortened. And their scenario also became less aggressive towards the DPRK, and the thesis of a "decapitating strike" was excluded. And now, such a reaction to the teachings of the Air Force - obviously, this is just a reason to be offended. Obviously, something from the US received through diplomatic channels turned out to be such an "obscene offer" that Pyongyang showed fangs from under a smile.
On May 16, North Korean First Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Ge Gwan made a statement to the press. It said something like the following.
Although North Korea is extremely positive about Trump's intentions to reconcile and end hostility, but the country is extremely dissatisfied with the aggressive and stupid US rhetoric before the summit with the DPRK. She is annoyed by the rhetoric of a number of officials in the US administration, especially Bolton’s National Security Assistant (whom Koreans have recently called a “talker” if translated creatively). "We have long been clear about who Bolton is, and now we don’t hide our antipathy towards him," said the DPRK Deputy Foreign Minister.
The DPRK considers foolish and humiliating comparisons of this situation with Libya and Iraq, since the DPRK has nuclear weapons and delivery vehicles, and Libya was at the initial stage of development. And they are not satisfied with the requirements to go for the "Libyan version" of denuclearization. When at first it was required to surrender unconditionally, everything that had been worked out was handed over, and then, perhaps, mercy from the count would follow. North Korea reminds of the sad fate of Libya and Iraq, and doesn’t intend to be on the same footing with them.
Also, the DPRK considers foolish attempts to present the summit as a country’s refusal of nuclear weapons of any kind. Although he again declares “adherence to the idea” of denuclearization, but not a word about the missiles is said at all - Pyongyang is not going to discuss them.
The DPRK considers it foolish to attempt to bribe the country with different economic preferences in exchange for surrendering its positions, since the DPRK has always carried out development at its own expense and does not intend to change its policy. North Korea called the American policy "naive comedy" and accused Trump of following the actions of past administrations in the wake of the actions, he runs the risk of failing and becoming the most unlucky president of the United States.
Also, the DPRK offers the US to reconsider its approaches, otherwise the summit will not take place.
That is, the missile status is not discussed, not a word about it, the nuclear status can be discussed, but it is not intended to abandon it, at least if it is ready, then not soon and there once and then in stages. And in general, there are signals that Pyongyang is ready to stop producing new charges, but does not plan to abandon the accumulated and collected ones. Yes, and hardly agree to total control of its nuclear weapons industry. And Trump needs a summit much more than Kim needs. And on military pressure from the United States, Kim sneezed - they are not being carried out on Trump’s cheap wiring, “I send three carrier strike groups, shaking, a totalitarian puff ... but for some reason they all ran past Korea.” But in reality, in the United States, they are still aware of what threatens them with even limited conflict with North Korea. Which can turn into a war with the participation of the DPRK, South Korea, Japan, China, the United States, it is possible that the Russian Federation and several other countries.
And statements about the desire for peace and so on are just statements. The South and the North agreed with each other only about the streamlined formulation of the “striving for the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula”, which was announced more than once, starting with the 1991 Denuclearization Declaration of the Year - and what, has something changed? The DPRK is the maximum that is ready to go on, it is on a compromise way of an integrated settlement, which should include the preservation of the DPRK's limited and controlled nuclear potential. And the United States is clearly not ready for this.
And about the "termination of hostile activity and the beginning of large-scale cooperation" the two Koreas also declared more than once - in 1991, 2000, 2007, and similar statements were also made with the United States under Kim Il Sung. But each time, the unsettled base issue — recognition of the DPRK and guaranteed provision of a peaceful environment for development — hampered.
Kim Jong-un at once and marked the position, and reassured those who dreamed of surrendering the DPRK at the mercy of a false winner. Yes, and put in a difficult position Trump. To whom it is not known what to do now - either Bolton should be put in place, or the summit itself should be rejected, or concessions made to Kim. At the same time, Trump has a difficult situation on other fronts - in Syria, from where you want to leave, and Russia can spoil something, and it is dangerous to aggravate. And with Iran, where the US went on about Israel’s provocateurs (and Trump himself’s own daughter and her son-in-law), which caused an increase in tensions in relations now with the EU. And with Russia, everything is difficult, and now also the Palestinian-Israeli issue. And then there is Kim Jong-un who does not want to behave, as they expect from him in Washington - as the native leader who lost the war, who came with a guilty head at the mercy of the winner.
There is something to be upset about Donald Trump and there is something to think about.
