"We made them": Syrian anti-aircraft gunners told how they shot down "Tomahawks"

76
On the night of April 14, a joint aggression of the USA, Great Britain and France against Syria took place. Three NATO countries launched around 110 various types of cruise missiles at targets in Syrian territory. According to the Russian General Staff, 77 missiles were intercepted by air defense systems of the SAR. There are no casualties as a result of the attack, material damage is estimated at several million dollars.

The most important military installations, such as airfields, communications centers and command posts, were not damaged. The efficiency ratio of the Syrian air defense at these sites was striving for unity.

According to the Syrian anti-aircraft gunners, Western missiles have become difficult targets for them. They put active interference and flew at a rather low altitude. Nevertheless, Soviet-made radars were able to correctly fire missile missiles at the Tomahawks that threatened the Syrian army.

70% of downed axes. Well done Syrians. The result of the missile strike was reduced to zero. The effect of this blow turned out to be negative primarily for mattresses and their "smart rockets." Old Soviet air defense systems have shown their effectiveness to the world now.

The real effectiveness of the raid on Syria.
It seems that the losers were planning the operation. negative Air defense forces did not suffer any losses. Yes For other objects:
Four missiles participated in the strike at the DUVALI airfield - all shot down. 100% efficiency
At the DUMEIR airfield there are 12 missiles, all shot down. 100%
There are 18 missiles at the BLEI airfield, all shot down. 100%
There are 12 missiles at the SHAIRAT airfield, all shot down. 100%
            Airfields were not affected.
Of the 9 missiles launched at the unused MEZZE airfield, 5 were shot down. 56%
Of the 16 missiles at the HOMS aerodrome, 13 were destroyed. No serious damage was observed. 81%
30 missiles participated in the strike on targets in the area of settlements BARZ and JARAMANI. Of these, 7 missiles were shot down. These objects, allegedly related to the so-called military chemical program of Damascus, are partially destroyed. Moreover, they have not been used for a long time, there were no people or equipment on them.
This Jaramani, apparently, was not covered at all, but 7 shot down, which were coming at him, or the aircraft banged or somewhere along the way. B1B was probably bombed altogether in the desert. There is infa that the strategists did not even reach the launch point of the AGM-158. They say they’ve made a mistake, but I think they just fell asleep. The pilots point is not iron, it is a bench press! But, perhaps, our REBs "deployed" the GPS system, and the Omerikosy have long forgotten how to use the navigational line. lol
So, the air defense efficiency is not 70%, but close to 100%! And these are our ancient air defense systems. tongue

According to the results and the damage caused, yes, close to 100%. And I talked about the percentage of interceptions. But you are right, you need to look at the result of the damage caused, which I have repeatedly said.

I think the Syrian ZRS a little twisted and there are not quite the same characteristics as in the basic version, not without the help of the Russians of course. Could take into account the Yugoslav experience. There, similar manipulations with Soviet air defense were mentioned. Something they knocked out of the category of prodigy is not to mention now. Perhaps made the modernization and the Syrians.

Do not rejoice ahead of time. From the point of view of air defense, the conditions for the combat use of US and British missiles were close to ideal. The calculation commander, although it indicates the presence of interference, but their intensity was clearly small, in addition, more than one air defense object was not hit. From all this we can make an unambiguous conclusion that this strike was of an intelligence-demonstration nature. Now, US analysts will be able to create a model of Syria’s air defense with 90% certainty, including Russian air defense systems, and prepare the next strike in 1-2 months. To prevent this, Russia has the only chance to deliver S-300 air defense systems and Russian combat crews to Syria within a month. It is impossible to prepare Syrian settlements in such a short time.

PS Actually, Syrian air defense needs almost complete rearmament ... it’s advisable to “leave” only “Buki”, “Osu” .... well, perhaps, also “Pechora-2M”. But ... "easy to say, harder to do ...". Russia is not so rich now that it can engage in “charity” on such a scale. Although ...... there is “more to see”! It is possible that for Russia the "Syrian" situation is: "either pan or disappeared!" The defeat of Russia in Syria could result in huge losses in the near future, not only in the political aspect, but also in the economic one. Russia's victory, even at a high price, can bring enormous political and economic benefits, if not in the immediate, then in a slightly more distant future.

Yes well done. It remains only to look at the wreckage of these rackets with a length of 6.25m and a diameter of 0.5m.

You can’t hide it. There, all of Syria should be bombarded with fragments of missiles and their engines.

Riyadh expressed a desire for a further US military presence in Syria.
You know, if you want us to stay, maybe you have to pay.
        - explained the American president.
At the same time, the Saudi side announced the possibility of joint participation in the attack on Syria the other day

The polygonal uninvited guest simply has nothing to say, but I want to spit. Polygonal they are:
The Macington macaques seek to isolate Russia and join forces to destroy Syria as a state. At the heart of the venture is control over the production and transportation of hydrocarbons.
If we give Syria to slaughter, the Saudis and Qatar carry out their pipelines to Europe and bring down prices, thereby causing enormous damage to the Russian economy. Perhaps Russia's presence in Syria needs to be increased and not only C 300 delivered to Iran and Syria.

The doctrine is light, and not the doctrine — on the head with an ax — a revision for tired Syrians. US shishis utilized junk and sawed the budget, with the maximum measures possible, and the Syrians gained experience without spending money on targets. It could have been worse than it happened .. Word, some- let off steam, but to us- to learn from this experience ... I hope things will show.

You forget that the Syrians have long been studying military affairs in the Russian Federation and the air defense personnel in particular, and I think that they are preparing them not only for the modernized S-200s, I dare to hope for the S-300/400 as well.

Gentlemen, well, you mustn’t be so deceived. Arabian tales are good for reading at night - but not instead of truthful information about the use of generally good equipment, for which in the case of Syria, Russia has never received money.
They said they shot down? Well, this is easier than knocking down.
So it is. Blows were carried out only on 3 objects. Thus, all the "downs" over the rest of the objects are bullshit. Either they lie to launch unaccounted-for Russian missiles (although it is hardly possible to lie to Russians about missed launches), or to embellish the percentage of "shot down." Moreover, out of 3 objects, 2 were obviously empty - the Israelis were all there 2 times before ... chile. The Israelis were very indignant at why they hadn’t hit the pressing goals. They explained to them - so as not to catch civilians

The choice of objects was discussed at the top and it was decided to make the blows purely informational (send a message), and therefore toothless. In order not to kill the Russians - and the Russians are sitting on important objects - they hit empty ones. Moreover, the Russians were informed in advance (several hours before the strike) that they should all be recalled from those 3 objects.

The Arabs apparently did not bring down anything. Or almost nothing. That was the essence of the message: we can gouge everything here unhindered if Assad throws poison again. If there were Russian calculations at 3 sites, maybe they would have shot down.

The conclusion is as old as the world: Do not be friends with shit.
