The other day the ministers of foreign affairs and defense of the PRC visited Moscow. The latter, by the way, delivered a speech that became a sensation. The Chinese defense minister called Russia an ally, and outlined his visit as direct support for Russia in its confrontation with the United States. This is the first time that the Chinese leadership has so clearly defined its priorities in foreign policy.
However, the reasoning that the Celestial Empire is seeking a replacement for the American market in Russia is erroneous. Rather, we need Beijing as a source of breakthrough military technology. And therein lies some danger for us.
