Lithuania sends the next group of instructors to Ukraine, reports the Lithuanian edition Delfi. The soldiers of the Volunteer Defense will replace the military of the Dragoon battalion of princess Birutė, who returned to Lithuania from Ukraine after performing a military training operation, the republic’s Ministry of Defense reported.
This is the third shift of Lithuanian military instructors, which is sent to perform a military training operation in Ukraine. It consists of 12 professional military and military volunteers.
Instructors will serve in Ukraine until the end of June. At the Javorov training ground in Western Ukraine, the Lithuanian military, along with instructors from the USA, Canada, Poland and the UK, will train Ukrainians in planning operations, conduct and evaluate exercises, firing and so on.
Lithuania has been sending instructors to Ukraine since August 2015, where they train Ukrainian military. As the Lithuanian authorities say, the instructors do not directly participate in hostilities and anti-terrorist operations in Ukraine. Military training operation is designed to train the armed forces of Ukraine.
