66
In response to the prohibition by Latvia of teaching in the languages of national minorities at school, State Duma deputies adopted a statement on the inadmissibility of such actions and proposed imposing sanctions against Riga.
The actions of the Latvian authorities violate the rights of Russian-speaking citizens and should entail the restrictions provided for by the law "On special economic measures", stressed in the State Duma
As sanctions measures, the law implies a partial or complete ban on financial operations, a change in customs duties, restriction of tourism, termination or suspension of international trade agreements and other foreign trade agreements.
The deputies proposed to send a statement to the government, the UN, the parliamentary assemblies of the CSTO and the OSCE, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, as well as to the parliaments of the Council of Europe and the Diet of Latvia, RIA reports News
