The European Commission presented a plan to increase the mobility of troops and military equipment in the EU. Thus, NATO is trying to prevent delays due to the fact that European roads and bridges are not designed for Alliance vehicles. The European Union promises to identify weaknesses in the infrastructure of the North Sea-Baltic transport corridor and suggest ways to eliminate them.
The largest buildup of NATO forces since the Cold War is taking place in Europe today. The largest number of US Army units is located in Germany, Poland and the Baltic countries. Over the past 2 years, two fully equipped mechanized divisions of the American army have been deployed to Europe. They include over 200 tanks, 400 infantry vehicles, and up to 100 self-propelled artillery pieces.
Divisions were divided into brigades and stationed in different parts of the European Union.
