Foreign portal The Aviationist publishes details of the use of the US Patriot PAC-2 US air defense / missile defense system by Saudi Arabian armed forces.
Recall that the Saudi Arabian air defense missile defense system had to be activated in connection with the massive rocket attack carried out by the Hussites from the territory of Yemen. Saudi media reported seven shot-down Hussite rockets, three of which were shot down near Riyadh International Airport.
Initially, a story appeared on the Al-Arabiya TV channel, stating that fragments of a Hussite missile hit by a Patriot fell on a residential building, which caused the death of one person and severe injuries of several others. The Aviationist reports that in the immediate vicinity of the residential area fell the very anti-missile, which was produced by the Saudi military. This is an American-made MIM-104C rocket.
It is reported that the "failure" gave at least two such missiles. They were used to intercept Burkan-2 missiles launched by the Hussite group. The video showing the unsuccessful launch of the American Patriot complex’s rocket was posted on Twitter (microblogging SURA).
On the frames published in the microblog, you can see how the rocket gains height in the night sky, and then falls to the left and literally crashes into the ground at high speed.
