Attacking "Petrel"

49

The patrol ships of the 1135 ("Petrel") offshore zone in stories Russian fleet occupy a special place. Differing from their predecessors not only in their elegant appearance, but also in their weapon systems and means for detecting enemy submarines, advanced energy and a high level of automation, these ships brought the country's long-range anti-submarine defense to a qualitatively new level. The successful design provided them with a long active service at all the sea and ocean theaters, their capabilities have not been exhausted to this day. Possessing modern missile, anti-aircraft, torpedo and artillery weapons, project 1135 TFRs became multifunctional, the most popular and beloved among naval sailors. It is no coincidence that they were released by the largest series.

The newest frigates of the Indian Navy of the Talwar type, which are rightfully considered to be among the most advanced in the world, are a profound modernization of the very same “Petrel” created by Soviet ships in the 70s.

The 1135 “Petrel” project appeared as if at the crossroads of two directions in the evolution of our fleet's anti-submarine ships — small (159 and 35 projects) and large (61 project). At that time, the Soviet Navy went out into the world ocean, and its main task was to fight nuclear submarines of a potential enemy. It was then that the first anti-submarine ships of the ocean zone were created - the 1123 cruiser-helicopter carriers, the 1 BOD of the 1134A and 1134B projects, the 2 BOD of the 61 project, which showed themselves from the best side. But their high cost forced the fleet management to supplement the arsenal of anti-submarine forces with a smaller displacement and less expensive ships of the near zone, which are also capable of operating in remote areas of the ocean, along with cruisers and BOD.

The main task of the patrol ships is the destruction of enemy ships and submarines and the provision of anti-submarine, anti-aircraft and anti-ship defense of the connections of ships and ships.

On ships of the 1135M project, AK-726 twin gun mounts, replaced with AK-100 gun mounts, and is equipped with the Lion artillery control radar MP-114
Radar: navigation radars "Don-2" or "Mius" and "Volga" or MP-212 / 201 "Vaigach-U", radar detection of air targets MP-310U "Angara-M" radar fire control "Monsoon" (RCC ), MPZ-301 "Base" (ZRK), MP-105 "Turret" (AU)

Crew: 197 man, including
23 officer,
27 officers,
Xnumx sailors.

In 1983-1984, the patrol ship “Zharky” was upgraded according to the 11353 project at the plant. A.A. Zhdanov with the placement of the new SJSC "Zvezda-MG" for testing. Moreover, its standard displacement has increased by more than 350 tons.

In 1983, the 11352 project was developed and placed on the ships of the SCRC “Uranus”. However, its implementation due to delays in the creation of a new generation of tactical anti-ship missiles was delayed until the start of the 1990-s. Before the collapse of the USSR and the landslide reduction of the Navy, only two ships were modernized: the Leningrad Komsomol member and the Pylky. On them, the place of the removed RBU-6000 was installed in two quadruple launchers of the Uran missile, Frigate MA was installed instead of the Angara radar, and Titan 2 was installed instead of the Titan-2 GAS. True, the upgraded ships sailed without PKR due to their unavailability (in the west they were called “Modified Krivak-I class”).

      all the same, our ships are more beautiful than American. Yes, it seems to me that the Yankees themselves seem prettier to our ships, remember the joke when the Yankees inserted our ships into their presentation like it's them. some veteran then admonished them. conclusion some kind of woodpecker sculpted the presentation and chose from all the pictures those that he liked best .....

      The sound of the turbines alone at the beginning of the movement gave the status of greatness to these ships, the growing quiet and quiet whistle from them bewitched as the sound of an expensive and powerful car. The forward-looking hull, the helipad with the hangar and the final weapons. I looked at this handsome man throughout the service, but never even had the chance to visit him. soldier

        Volodya, I'm sorry, brother! 1135 did not have a helicopter and a platform with a hangar, for which we always reproached the designers. And the ship became a real fighter only after the 3rd stage of modernization, when "sleds" for "Uranus" and "Fregat MA" radar were installed on it. And the boat was really wonderful: a salable one. Suffice it to say that "Pylky" held the Blue Ribbon of the Baltic Sea, reaching St. Petersburg faster than the MRK. True, he did not compete with MDKVP.

            They were young. They faithfully served the Motherland. She could not save them. What are the reasons for their death? The author is trying to figure it out, he seeks to look farther and deeper than others and only guesses to him the truth of this tragedy ...
            Nikolai Andreevich Cherkashin
            Gone to the abyss
            foreword
            The experience of my service in submarines during the Great Patriotic War in the Baltic Sea, the experience of commanding submarine formations during the Cold War, and also the experience of commanding the Northern Fleet give me the right to say that the death of the Kursk missile nuclear submarine with one hundred and eighteen submarines on board - This is a tragedy not only for our Navy, for the military department, but also for the people of all Russia.
            This grave incident in the Northern Fleet in peacetime testifies to the extremely difficult situation and serious omissions in the training of the Navy forces in the conditions of the so-called “reforms”. Needless to say, what serious damage has been done over the past years to the Armed Forces of Russia in general and the Navy in particular. But the most loyal and persistent officers remained in service, such as the commander of the Kursk, captain of the 1 rank Gennady Lyachin, captain-lieutenant Dmitry Kolesnikov, many other sailors ...
            The tragedy of the Kursk nuclear submarine equipped with modern technology is a serious lesson for the command of the Navy of the Russian Federation and especially for the command of the Northern Fleet and the connection of nuclear submarines. This is a strict reminder that the sea and underwater service do not forgive mistakes, but require the highest sense of responsibility in solving the main task - the defense of the homeland from sea and ocean directions.
            Now that the difficult task of raising the Kursk submarine is being solved, it is very important to determine the true causes of the disaster, the reasons for the death of the submariners so that proper conclusions are drawn and similar misfortunes are not repeated in the future.
            I believe that the work of the writer, a former submariner of captain 1 rank Nikolai Cherkashin, will serve this important matter and will be useful for the submarine forces of the Russian Navy.

          I mean project 1135p, in my opinion, instead of aft towers and BU GAS there was a hangar for a helicopter, one 100mm tower on the tank, one self-defense air defense system, one AK-1 battery. By the end of the 70s, it became necessary to control the vast sea areas in the Far East and North - first of all, the 200-mile economic zone. In this regard, the Severnoye Design Bureau, on the instructions of the USSR KGB, on the basis of the tested project 1135 "Burevestnik", developed a technical project for a border patrol ship, which received the code 1135.1 "Nereus" (chief designer N.P. Sobolev; since 1980, the project was finalized by A.K.Shnyrov ). Built "nerei" at the Kerch plant named after. BE Butomy "Zaliv". A total of eight units entered service, with the last of the ships being part of the Ukrainian Navy. The ninth PSKR was mothballed on the slipway. He also became the property of Ukraine.

      Our ships are really not only beautiful but also powerful. It is interesting how many such ships of the Burevestnik project are in the fleet now. In the dashing 90s, when many different good ships were sawn for scrap, this fate also affected some ships of this type, as they wrote in the press. Meanwhile, such ships are very necessary for our fleet now.

      In the 80s I had to visit several TFR pr. 1135 from the SF and BF. Several of our systems worked there. And as an engineer and as an artist, I especially liked them against the background of the larger 1134 and others. Okay! Everything is proportionate, thought out. As the aircraft designer Tupolev often estimated the beauty of the aircraft and predicted its fate, so this ship was harmonious. Marketable, powerful, it was produced in dozens of shipyards. 1. 0
        29 September 2013 11: 08
        Residents and guests of Moscow, traveling along the Leningradsky Bridge, have been observing a warship moored at the Port of the Cooling Plant of the Northern River Port for more than ten years. How did he get on a shallow river, and what is its function, being here?
        The Druzhny patrol ship bought from the Russian fleet and decommissioned in 2003 from Baltiysk was delivered to the Yantar plant in Kaliningrad, where conversion work was started in accordance with a specially designed project. In the autumn of that year, work was completed, and the lightweight corps across the Baltic Sea and inland waterways was towed to Moscow. Such towing was a rather complicated and non-trivial operation. The length of the ship’s hull is more than 120 m, and the draft is about 4 m, which made it extremely possible to move through locks and waterways.
        It would be logical to assume that the former patrol ship of the USSR Navy will become a museum ship, because in the Soviet Union and modern history there were quite a few examples of such a reassignment. Thus, the residents of the Russian capital have been waiting for many years when the half-dismantled patrol ship Druzhny with tail number 754 will be put in order and opened for visitors as one of the exhibits of the Moscow Maritime Museum. It would be correct to include the well-deserved Baltic Fleet warship in the exposition of the Moscow Museum and Memorial Complex and place it next to the B-396 diesel submarine of the 641B project, the unique Orlenok ekranoplan and the Skat hovercraft. The opening of a maritime museum on board a real warship would have a very positive effect on the level of patriotic education of the younger generation.
        However, in reality, this is not so. In 2003, a group of individuals purchased a warship from the Russian fleet at a scrap price and ordered the patrol ship to be converted into a multifunctional entertainment center. In the documentation of the TFR, "Druzhny" was designated as the "museum, cultural and entertainment complex" 754 ". Accordingly, an architectural design for the deployment of a military vessel near the embankment next to the Andreevsky bridge in the center of Moscow was soon developed.
        The following objects should have been the basis of the infrastructure of the cultural and entertainment complex in accordance with the project concept and available capabilities:
        two restaurants on 200 and 70 seats;
        Concert Hall with 400 seats;
        disco for 250 people;
        Internet cafe for 50 people;
        slot machine room for children;
        trade pavilions;
        The total area of infrastructure facilities of the entertainment complex under the project was about 4000 sq. m. Only a modest room was allocated for the museum of the history of the ship. But it was not possible to implement the plans immediately and establish a floating casino in the planned place - since the 1 of July, the 2009 of the year, gambling has been banned.
        This is the only known case in the Russian Federation when private individuals decided to convert a former warship into a floating casino for placement on the Moscow River. It was planned to equip the ship with gambling equipment and decorate cabins, halls, bars and other rooms according to the best standards upon arrival in Moscow. There is nothing unusual about this. There are quite a lot of similar conversions in the world, including with the former ships of the Navy of the USSR. For example, the heavy aircraft carrier Minsk was bought by China and now serves as an entertainment center in the city of Shenzhen.

          And today, a half-dismantled patrol ship is standing at the berth of the Portokholodokombinat of the Northern River Port on the Khimki Reservoir. In December 2010, the owners of the 754 facility put up the Druzhny TFR for sale and hope to find a buyer who will bring the matter to mind. The price of a floating entertainment complex put up for sale is only 2,5 million rubles, which is actually equal to the price of scrap metal.
          To turn the patrol ship Druzhny into a museum ship, considerable funds must be spent. Only state structures can afford it, since for private investors the object is not of great interest - you won’t earn much at the Museum of Marine Glory. None of the officials voiced any plans for the fate of the patrol ship Druzhny. Finding a warship near the mooring wall and maintaining it afloat annually requires certain costs, so sooner or later it may happen that in the near future Druzhny will be sent for autogen.
          The 1135 Druzhny patrol ship was laid on the slipway of the Baltic Yantar Shipyard in Kaliningrad on October 12 of 1973 of the year. It was launched on 22 of January 1975 of the year, and 4 of June 1973 of the year was included in the list of the Baltic Navy of the USSR. In 2003, the Druzhny patrol ship was expelled from the fleet, after which it was converted into a cultural and entertainment complex at the Yantar enterprise and transferred to Moscow.

      But isn’t it a minus that the main caliber guns are aft? And a blizzard is a rather controversial complex, compared to an astrok.
      What to fight, of course, they do not choose, but enthusiasm is useless.

        The ships of this project very often performed the tasks of the Naval Forces in the Sred Sea. Therefore, when 76 mm was replaced by 100mm AU, they became very dangerous for the ships (AVU), which were monitored. Well, Rastrub is much better than Asrok: it can be used in both nuclear and conventional equipment, it has a small-sized electric torpedo as a warhead (50 + 8 km). Asrok - ballistics at 9 km + mk 44 (46), this is also 9 km. Total 20 km at best.

        Primitive reason like an accountant fellow . The main caliber’s guns in the stern turn into a plus when they fired a torpedo, you go home and shoot back :-)
        But this is not about that, not about weapons. We are talking about the design of the ship, its power plant, its speed, stability, unsinkability, seaworthiness. And these, with their similarity, are different characteristics. A successful project, that’s what we’re talking about. How to check? Even the same design ships on the chassis show different speeds. Somewhere the power plant does not give out full power, somewhere the body contours are not perfect, but there is a difference of 2-3 knots.
        For this reason, the enthusiasm is appropriate, especially since the finicky Indians bought six pieces 1135.6. What we want, then mount on them.

      "Project 1135" is a handsome man, definitely!
      And there is no doubt that the new frigates are very necessary for the Russian Navy. I believe that both new projects (22350 and 11356Р / М, created on the basis of 1135) are relevant and will be a worthy replacement for 1135.

      Handsome, then he is handsome ... But the sailors responded to me about the first two projects (1135.1 and 1135.2) with great coolness, noting that the watchmen turned out to be "so-so". A weak (for the beginning of the 80s) anti-submarine acoustic system, near-zero capabilities of work along the coast (although 1135.2 received an artillery system enhancement) to enemy ships, small ammunition (4 missiles and everything) and a unique feature for an anti-submarine ship - the absence of its own helicopter and even a platform for him. Praised the presence of BIUS (at that time it was still a novelty), driving performance. We can say they kept silent about the air defense, however, it is clear that the range did not allow solving the tasks of the air defense of the formation.
      Actually, therefore, in the end, they were handed over to the border guards, and the rest tried to at least somehow modernize, which was prevented by perestroika.
      But after working out the "chassis" on the basis of 1135, very good frigates for the Indians and now the Russian fleet were built (although not without problems). Cheap and cheerful.

        Aleks, not every first pancake is not lumpy. The main thing is best-selling. The main thing is seafaring. :-)

        There is a bulba. fellow Successful design, time-tested. You can put any weapons: from a helicopter and artillery system, to mine launchers of a modular type.
        The main thing is speed, seaworthiness, survivability, stability. I'm not talking about the exterior, somewhere there was infa in the network - the opinion of the "sha-partners", a report from the sea that our ships just kind of pump a nervous tic. Like psychosis. Aggressive in appearance Yes . Like it would be necessary for American shipbuilders to think ...
        For this, like this. It's like in aviation, only the density of water is 1000 times greater. If you make a mistake in the contours of the hull, then then it gets out in excessive fuel consumption and loss of speed. Here we - Russians, in design, have no equal on this "Globe". It is a fact.

          The problem is that cruise ships are both navigable and seaworthy and simply beautiful. Here the warship, and alas, it took almost three decades of "training" to prepare for a "suitable" ship.

      Although he himself served on the destroyers of project 956 and I consider them the most beautiful, but the TFR of project 1135 has always liked its agility as a scooter - they were called "motor scooter". And his mooring and leaving was more like a parking lot

      And they blundered, in general, in vain. Because these shortcomings took place. Say, the placement of guns above the shafting really worsened accuracy (as far as I know. If there is someone from 51 departments of the Special Design Bureau, let them answer more precisely), but they are linear -the elevated location, firstly, reduced survivability (one bomb / missile -and no artillery), and secondly, eliminated circular fire. And on 11352 with its huge box for BUGAS, one of the cannons could not shoot back, in principle. linkers were easier to live on and their displacement was saved.
      The real range of detection of submarines was somewhere up to 20 km. Therefore, the range of the Blizzard of 40 km could only be used with an external control center. The pipe is also an anti-ship missile in combination, so that made sense

      Moreover, they were already promised a cap. repair and modernization.
      And the one that was standing near the coast in Moscow would like to make an experimental vessel
