Australian Edition West Australian publishes material, which refers to the proposal of the Ukrainian government for cooperation in the rocket and space industry. We are talking about the proposal of Ukraine for the construction of a cosmodrome in the area of the Kurtin airbase in western Australia.
The submission says that Ukraine "can help Australians realize their long-held dream of building their own launch pad for spacecraft launches."
In an interview with the Australian edition, the Ambassador of Ukraine Mykola Kulinich stated that Ukraine has appropriate technologies in its arsenal, as well as story participation in the global rocket and space race.
Kulinich:
This offer is real. If agreements are reached, Ukraine can begin work even tomorrow. We offer our people, our experience, and Australia can offer territory (for the future spaceport).
Today, it is known that Ukraine is requesting 500 thousand dollars for a feasibility study for construction. Australian Senator Linda Reynolds said that the authorities are considering Ukrainian proposals.
Reynolds:
We are considering a proposal from the Ukrainian government. If, as a result, the project is implemented, the launch pad will be an excellent opportunity for launching spacecraft from South-East Asia into orbit.
