Shots from Syria: militants blew up a group of soldiers of the SAR army
15
The terrorists of the Syrian Free Army bombarded the positions of the Syrian army in the coastal province of Latakia. For this, they used the American anti-tank complex TOW. According to media reports related to the militants, the newly created First Coastal Division of the SSA launched an attack.
Officially, the TOW US ATGM did not supply any of the parties to the conflict, including the Kurds. However, these systems constantly appear in the hands of not only "moderate" terrorists, but also representatives of ISIS.
In the middle of 2016, it was from an anti-TOW that a helicopter of the Russian Mi-35M was shot down. This happened in the province of Homs, near Palmyra. Both pilots died.
TOW during the war years became the most dangerous means of destruction for the Syrian army. According to unofficial statistics, with the help of this complex, militants managed to destroy at least 120 Syrian tanks.
