The UN is trying to conclude an agreement on the supply of humanitarian aid to the regions of Syria, but "can not do anything alone," reports RIA News statement by the coordinator of humanitarian assistance to the world organization Panos Moumcis.
We continue to receive disturbing reports from Afrin about deaths and injuries among civilians,
said moumisis.
According to him, at the moment "about five thousand displaced persons arrived to the surrounding (Afri.) Villages and the city of Aleppo, and tens of thousands more are believed to be in Afrin."
In addition, the fate of "tens of thousands of people stuck in Rukban in southeastern Syria" is of concern, the UN official said.
We continue to seek agreements for convoys with humanitarian aid. The UN and partners are ready to help 13,1 million needing Syria, but they cannot do it alone. We cannot do this while fighting continues,
added on.
Recall, the UN Security Council adopted resolution 2401, which requires all parties to stop the clashes and provide a humanitarian pause for at least 30 days throughout the entire territory of the SAR, but the militants continue shelling.
