27 February 2018 of the year within the framework of the days of the Republic of Mordovia in the Federation Council an extended meeting of the Committee on Defense and Security was held. The senators reviewed a number of federal laws, and also discussed the establishment of a permanent air cargo-passenger multilateral checkpoint at the state border of the Russian Federation.
The Chairman of the Committee on Defense and Security, Viktor Bondarev, said that a permanent multilateral air checkpoint at the state border could appear at the Saransk airport.
Citing arguments in support of the continuous functioning of the checkpoint, Viktor Bondarev stressed that foreigners assess the standard of living in the country, including the quality of airport organization:
Russia is aviation power, we were one of the first to fly on airplanes. And the infrastructure should confirm our status, and not create problems and inconveniences. In order for tourists to strive for us, we must be at the forefront of the processes of increasing the comfort of civil aviation, and not catch up with or lag behind the leaders
In addition, parliamentarians considered a number of federal laws amending the Code of Administrative Offenses and the legislation on the Russian Guard, weapons, on military duty and military service. All these documents were recommended by members of the Committee for approval by the Federation Council, told the Military Review in the press service of the senator
