Why did Russia suddenly increase the grouping of the VKS in Syria?

40
According to information coming from Syria, over the past three days, the Russian Ministry of Defense has increased its grouping in the Arab Republic. According to unofficial data, 11 units of combat aircraft arrived at the air base in coastal Latakia.

Hmeimim was reportedly replenished with four Su-25CM2 attack aircraft, four super-maneuverable Su-35С fighters, one A-50U long-range radar detection and control aircraft, and two fifth-generation fighters of the Su-57 (PAK FA).

The arrival of the latter was confirmed by several sources, one way or another connected with the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The pro-Syrian media associate these actions of the Russian military with the unstable situation around Afrin, where there have already been indirect clashes between the Turks and the Syrian militia, as well as with the events in the province of Deir ez-Zor, where two weeks ago under the blow of the American aviation hit the citizens of the Russian Federation.

There can be many reasons. These are constant airstrikes on the Syrian regular units by both the Israeli Air Force and coalition planes. Also, the history of the Turks with the Kurds. Idlib’s cleansing. Well, the test of the SU-57, and its arsenal.
In any case, such a step about the transfer of additional VKS forces, including a secret fighter, clearly indicates that serious events are coming in Syria, in which the Russian Federation is not going to stand on the sidelines as an extras. I won’t be surprised if additional S-400 and Pantsir complexes will be transferred to Syria.

The events at Euphrates are just a spit in the direction of Russia ... I won’t be surprised that the reinforcement of the air forces was a response to these events. If I were planning a "response to Chamberlain," I would first of all strengthen the air defense forces with the goal of closing the sky on the left bank. Given that the adversary can attack from any direction, the air defense should capture with its capabilities and 100 kilometers around Syria. After that, you can start patrolling the Rooks throughout the ATS with cover by fighters. It is necessary to make a situation where "probable friends" simply cannot use aviation in Syria. And in case of application - a tough answer. And after that there is already a “peace enforcement” of all who will doubt. Within a month, it is likely to increase the grouping to the necessary state.

In fact, it is you who see the situation very finely. Your answer "We are fighting on the side of the SAR against ISIS" is an official stamp, well, for those who do not know how to think independently. This is, say, the official banner posted by the state for the layman. Of course, everything is much more complicated. Only a very narrow-minded person will not see in this Syrian boiling cauldron the centuries-old confrontation of the East and the West, the struggle for influence, for resources, and finally, for the dominant ideology ... And that is not all. We won’t tell you about undercurrents, otherwise we will really want to drink ...))

The Middle East has been fried for five years already, then burning with soot may have begun, because the venturers of this frying in the Middle East have come to a showdown. So they accumulate oil and firewood (including Su-57) for frying rivals. No wonder R. Erdogan announced the mobilization of reservists (while Turkey is in allies with Iran against the United States). It’s impossible to roast until this time, the United States, as Akella missed the Kurds ...

I think the command of the troop group has already received its portion of medication for carelessness and sloppiness. For the killed pilot whose heads flew unambiguously, and not only for black barmels. Besides, it seems to me that the Su-57 came to work there by no means spiritually. And work out combat coordination high-tech means of combat and guidance, such as the A-50, S-400, and other fighters against a likely enemy. They just accumulated decently there. Turkey, USA, Israel, coalition aviation

There is always a risk - but fifty dollars has a very powerful defense complex, there are "chips" more interesting than the LTC ... only here is the new equipment, not yet tested, this is the main risk for the T-50 in Syria. Based on its equipment - MANPADS will not be able to overwhelm him even if it fires - I repeat, he has a very strong defense complex ... of course, they will "probe" him, as without this, but only ours are not fools either.
PS - it’s possible that these vehicles will cover our attack aircraft against the MANPADS with their own complexes (this is only an assumption, as an option) if ours decide to clear these stables .... although this seems too risky.

Su-57 pass tests in Syria of their radar to actually detect objects with a small effective reflective surface in real conditions, such as the aircraft of the 5th generation of the United States: F-22 and F-35. And of course, testing the entire Su-57 radio complex, as well as interacting with the A-50 flying radar to detect unobtrusive targets at long range and give target designations ... check the optoelectronic station to detect targets, including with a small effective reflective surface. ..

Obviously, the Pentagon is going to deliver a massive strike with cruise missiles in Syria in the near future. And minor dirty tricks with the massive use of small terrorist UAVs. Franuzishko Macron had already blabbed, said the signal for the strike on Assad would be the documents of the use of chemical weapons. And everyone knows where it comes from. Since the Russians endured and swallowed the bitter pill with Wagner, now it is possible to strike to the fullest. Tighten NATO. and the Russians drift away and agree to partition Syria on the Euphrates. I nevermind the imperialists! It is important now to cover the sky, to strengthen air defense! The reflection of the Israeli missile attack showed the correctness of the decision. To crush the imperialists, not to give them respite, to burn the earth under the feet of the invaders! Freedom to the Syrian people!

As you put it, “Crush the imperialists” is when in response to a missile strike the trough or plane launches these missiles. And just shoot down missiles, it’s called a little differently. If only ours in 41 near Moscow only restrained the Germans' attacks, they would still have fought. Need a counterattack, and then how it goes, do what you should and be what happens.

Since the SU-57 is still being finalized, although it was stupid in the troops, the best revision, as is known, is in the zone of active, not invented actions.
I think that most attention will be paid to the aspects of detection and defense. Since the fighter is multi-purpose, the detection in the whole spectrum is the main task and self-defense in the same way, striking is possible only detection.

For the T-50, first of all, this is the accumulation of individual piloting experience for pilots. The capabilities of the new aircraft look outlandish. The development, selection and consolidation of their best options in a combat situation are of the utmost importance. At all times in the use of aviation, individual pilot skill, sometimes even contrary to instructions, always led to victory.

The USA and Israel have already "marked" themselves over Syria with the F-22 and F-35.

Both aircraft are not yet operational *, so they were noted very slightly. F-22s only attack planes to lift up, and F-35 even slightly disgraced, "colliding with a bird."

Therefore, even from a purely fashionable standpoint, the move is correct. In terms of PR, the Su-57 should not only be driven to the competition at air shows of competitors, but also “in a real war”. It affects foreign residents and buyers a lot. Yes, and ours is not harmful.

    * F-22 combat readiness as a bomber, but not as a fighter: it cannot use air-defense missiles in supersonic sound from bays. Finalization of 152 vehicles to a combat-ready state under the Increment 3.2B program is scheduled to begin in 2019.

F-35, according to the January report - so crude that it is still completely unsuitable for the start of state tests.
