Mass "stratospheric interception" in the Russian sky

Large-scale fighter exercises were held in the Urals aviation. "In battle" converged high-altitude MiG-31 interceptors and Su-35 fighters. The latter provided cover for the transport An-26, which played the role of an enemy bomber. MiGs, in turn, were supposed to neutralize the entire group of aircraft that invaded the airspace of a sovereign state.

Electronic missile launches against targets were carried out at distances 150-170 kilometers. Such exercises are conducted with the regularity of 2 once a year. This allows pilots to gain invaluable, almost combat experience. According to the results of the exercises, the winner will be announced.

Meanwhile, in the Ivanovo region, exercises of another crew of the MiG-31BM took place. According to legend, the enemy aircraft intend to strike at military infrastructure. Interceptors take off to meet them, as well as the DRLO A-50U aircraft, which directs them to enemy planes.

      Usually, all serial air-to-air missiles begin with the letter P, and not K. The RVV-BD was put into service in 2014, at least as they wrote it. But KS-172 is still being tested, it can fly up to 460 km.
