The chairman of the annual Munich International Security Conference, Wolfgang Ischinger, warned of the dangers of a new military confrontation between major world powers. As the politician noted, the growing mistrust in Moscow and Washington is already leading to local conflicts, but it is unlikely that we can restrict ourselves to them.

By the opening of the conference, Ischinger presented a report entitled "To the edge of the abyss and back." The expert touched upon the problems of the Korean Peninsula, the confrontation between China, the USA and Russia, the Syrian conflict, etc.

He did not bypass the party and his native Europe. In a special "European Defense Report," the politician spoke about the plans of the EU to create its own unified army. This idea is promoted by two key countries in the region - Germany and France. The latter, by the way, is going to return the mandatory call-up for military service.

According to Ischinger, “the sabotage of the world order by the Americans” became the main reason for the European Union to carry out such plans.
