Secret "Coalition" has left behind NATO equipment

13
Kilometer by kilometer, through forests, fields and off-road. At the test site near Yekaterinburg, the military is honing the management skills of the newest domestic self-propelled howitzer. The newest self-propelled unit "Coalition" in a number of parameters surpasses the analogs of the NATO countries. However, the designers themselves about the possibility of technology speak reluctantly. The exact characteristics are still top secret.

The first experimental batch of new self-propelled guns will arrive in the army very soon. The first they will receive the soldiers of the Taman Division. Connection mechanics are currently undergoing retraining at Uralvagonzavod.

"Coalition" is based on the chassis tank T-90, but in the coming years it will "transfer" to the latest Armata platform. Unlike the self-propelled guns Msta-S, the new self-propelled gun meets all modern requirements. All vital information is displayed on multimedia displays, and managing a new howitzer is no more difficult than using a smartphone.

It is not clear why not immediately test the Coalition on the Almaty platform ... after all, the T-14, T-15, T-16 are tested on the basis of Almaty, what is the worse off Coalition?

What for? Self-propelled guns do not ride at the forefront, in my humble opinion, the first thing the T-14, T-15 need to do is more, and then, as it becomes saturated, the platform will be changed for the rest. Including testing on a platform already rolled in the troops.

In general, there is such a practice on the chassis of obsolete tanks to put MLRS, large-caliber guns and mortars, electronic warfare and anti-aircraft systems.
PS: Armata platform is washed down for modular equipment and stick something of desire on it.

I do not argue Aron that the self-propelled guns are not bad, but there are probably only a few of them. By the way, like all new weapons in Russia, only prototypes .. Basically, the Soviet legacy that is aging and aging.

“We have contracted 12 samples of the Coalition-SV, they will undergo military operation until 2020. In 2020, we will complete the state tests and make a decision on serial purchases, ”Borisov said after visiting Uraltransmash (part of Uralvagonzavod Corporation), the only enterprise in Russia that produces self-propelled guns
