Hundreds of citizens come with flowers to the Officers' House in the northern district of Voronezh to bid farewell to the Russian pilot Roman Filippov who died in Syria. The coffin with the body of Major Filipov was delivered by special board (military transport Il-76) to Voronezh from the Chkalovsky airfield near Moscow. In Chkalovsky, representatives of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense took leave of the dead officer of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Major Filipov honorably fulfilled his military duty, remained loyal to the oath, sacrificed himself in the fight against the enemy and thereby put himself in the first row of the best defenders of the Fatherland. The name of Roman Filipov will forever remain in our hearts and the hearts of our compatriots.
His family, his wife Olga Sergeyevna and daughter, will always remain in our large army family.
The ex-commander-in-chief of the Air Force, General Mikhailov, said at the farewell ceremony that the feat of Major Filipov had literally shook people not only in Russia, but also outside the country.

The farewell ceremony began on 12: 00 in Voronezh. The hero of Russia, Major Filipov, will be buried in the Kominternovsky cemetery of the capital of the Black Soil Region, on the Alley of Heroes.
