Bolkonsky and Stirlitz. 90 anniversary of the birth of Vyacheslav Tikhonov

22
8 February 2018 was the birthday of the great and truly iconic Soviet theater and film actor Vyacheslav Vasilyevich Tikhonov 90. He was one of the brightest and charismatic stars of Soviet cinema. In the minds of millions of citizens of our country, he will forever remain in the form of the famous scout Stirlitz from the television series "Seventeen Moments of Spring." At the same time, the actor himself was much closer to the role of Prince Andrei Bolkonsky, which he played in the film “War and Peace” by Sergei Bondarchuk.

Vyacheslav Vasilyevich Tikhonov was born on February 8 of the year 1928 in the small town near Moscow Pavlovsky Posad in a simple working family. His father worked as a mechanic in a weaving factory, and his mother worked as a kindergarten teacher. The Tikhonov family lived in a two-story wooden house with their grandfather and grandmother. While studying at school, the future actor loved the following subjects most: math, physics, and history. Not the most obvious set of items for a future theater and film actor. True, the cinema Vyacheslav Tikhonov really loved since childhood, like many Soviet boys of those years, he was especially inspired by the heroic pictures. His favorite movie characters were Alexander Nevsky and Chapaev. Already in those years in secret from his parents, he still dreamed of an acting career, but his parents saw him in the future as an engineer or agronomist.

By the time the Great Patriotic War began, Vyacheslav Tikhonov was 13 years old, at this age he goes to a vocational school, where he studies as a turner. After completing his studies, he entered a military factory, where he worked according to his specialty. So Tikhonov managed to make his own contribution to the victory in the Great Patriotic War. In 1944, he enters the zero course of the Automechanical Institute, but already a year after the end of the war, he decides to quit the institute, taking a step towards his dream, he tries to enroll in VGIK. It is worth noting that only his grandmother supported his desire to enter the theater school from his family.

Bolkonsky and Stirlitz. 90 anniversary of the birth of Vyacheslav Tikhonov

At the entrance exam in VGIK on acting, Vyacheslav Tikhonov failed. The brief rehearsals of the young dreamer, the time for which he found between the work shifts at the plant, were not enough to go to one of the most important theatrical universities in the country. But here, fate smiled at Vyacheslav in all 32 of the tooth, one of the teachers - Boris Bibikov, was filled with sympathy for the applicant who was upset by his lack of access, after a lengthy conversation he decided to take Tikhonov on his course. This decision of Bibikov can now be called fateful for the cinema and the development of the national acting school.

Later, having already become famous and beloved by the audience, the actor recalled that he was brought up in a working environment, including the street. Therefore, in his youth he made a tattoo on his arm - he pinned his name - Slava. Later, he regarded her as a talisman and a kind of prophecy - fame actually came to Vyacheslav, staying with him until the very last days of life. As the tattoo, which he could not bring. Therefore, on the set, he tried to hide it more carefully. Subsequently, Vyacheslav Tikhonov, with a laugh, recalled: "So he played two princes with a tattoo."

Already during his studies at the university, Tikhonov made his debut on the silver screen. He played the role of Volodya Osmukhin in Sergey Gerasimov’s film Young Guard, the film premiered in the fall of 1948. On the set of this film, the actor met his first wife, actress Nona Mordyukova, whom he married while still studying. Their marriage lasted 13 years. In the 1950 year, Tikhonov graduated with honors from VGIK, the workshop of Bibikov and Pyzhova, settling down to work in the theater-studio of a film actor, in the same year 28 in February he had a son Vladimir, also a future film actor.

Unlike most of the actors who played in the “Young Guard”, Tikhonov almost 10 years did not get interesting roles in the movie, directors attracted mainly only his spectacular appearance. During these years, Vyacheslav Tikhonov honed his skills on the theater stage. In 1957, he went to work at the Gorky CKDYUF. In the same year, the film “The Case Was in Penkovo” was released on the country's television screens, where Tikhonov played tractor driver Matvey Morozov, this role brought the actor the first audience recognition. In 1958, another film was released with his participation “Ch. P. - Emergency ", in it the actor played Victor Paradise sailor from Odessa, a reckless and cheerful guy who became a real hero in a fight with the Chiang Kai-shechs who captured the tanker.

After these two films in Vyacheslav Tikhonov, the directors finally believed the filmmakers, and a large number of roles literally fell on him in the most diverse films: “May Stars” (1959), “Thirst” (1959), “Michman Panin” (1960), “Two Lives , Seven Winds (1962), Optimistic Tragedy (1963). It is worth noting that in the film “Thirst” Tikhonov for the first time had to try on a German uniform, he played a scout who was abandoned in the German rear during the war.

At the same time in 1960-ies Tikhonov starred in one of the most important films in his career. It was a brilliant work by Sergei Bondarchuk, one of the most expensive and large-scale films in the history of Soviet cinema - the film adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s novel War and Peace. Vyacheslav Tikhonov played Prince Andrei Bolkonsky in it, this role demanded from him complete dedication, he, like many participants of the shooting, worked on the site with incredible exertion of forces. Making the film took Bondarchuk about 6 years (1961-1967). His film entered the history of cinema not only a great acting game, but also large-scale battle scenes, as well as innovative technique of panoramic shooting of battlefields. The film received the main prize of the Moscow International Film Festival (1965 year), as well as the American Academy Award, as the best film in a foreign language (1969 year).

It is worth noting that a handsome and stately artist with a noble appearance already at the beginning of his career was assigned to the role of intellectuals, aristocrats and the military. In many ways, this contributed to the role of Andrei Bolkonsky in the film “War and Peace”. At the same time, Tikhonov could not have acted in this film, so it happened that Sergei Bondarchuk did not see him in the role of Bolkonsky, while Vyacheslav himself dreamed of this role. He found out about this by meeting with the director in the corridor of Mosfilm. Yekaterina Furtseva, Minister of Culture of the USSR, helped her to become an actor’s dream, who favored him. She invited Bondarchuk to view the film “Optimistic Tragedy”, in which Tikhonov played, and was able to convince the director, in the end he was approved for the role of Prince Bolkonsky, investing herself in the future success of the film and earning genuine popular recognition.

In 1967, the actor married for the second time, his wife became Tamara Ivanova, whom he met while playing the main role in the French film “Man and Woman”. Tatyana, who graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Moscow State University with a degree in French language, worked at VO Sovexportfilm. He married her during the filming of the movie We will live until Monday, in which Melnikova’s teacher played. An honest, decent and modest history teacher conquered the audience. He conquered Tatiana's heart, with whom he lived in a happy marriage of 42, in this marriage in 1969, his daughter Anna was born, who after graduating from VGIK became an actress and producer.

Vyacheslav Tikhonov’s film career has become a real high point in the role of intelligence officer Isaeva-Stierlitz in Tatiana Lioznova’s 12-serial feature film “Seventeen Moments of Spring”. This role has become the most famous in his career. The scout, working in the very center of fascist Germany in the spring of 1945, gained unprecedented popularity among the people. 1973 year in which the premiere of the film, was the most triumphant in his acting career. The image of Stirlitz was firmly attached to him for the rest of his life, although Tikhonov himself did not associate this image with himself. The film was far from superheroism and pathos, often characteristic of films about scouts, this was his main success. The audience believed in what was happening on the movie screen, empathized with what was happening, it was for this reason that the streets of Soviet cities literally became empty during the TV show. After "Seventeen Moments of Spring," Vyacheslav Tikhonov was awarded several prestigious awards, including the title of People's Artist of the USSR.

For "Instant" followed by a whole scattering of films, for example, "Carousel", "They fought for the Motherland", "White Beam, Black Ear". The work of Vyacheslav Tikhonov in the last picture was awarded the Lenin Prize, and the film itself also became a classic of Russian cinema. Thanks to his talent, Vyacheslav Tikhonov played a large range of roles: from KGB officers to princes, from intelligence officers to teachers and writers, but he was not filmed in comedies. The only comedic film with his participation was the painting “The Chest of drawers drove through the streets”.

The end of 1980-x - the beginning of 1990-s turned out to be a difficult period for Vyacheslav Tikhonov. He did not take Perestroika, the ideals in which he believed were trampled. There were no iconic roles during this period. According to eyewitnesses, the actor did not want to take a new time, and also refused to conduct an acting workshop at VGIK. He starred little, for example, was noted in a minor, but memorable role in the film “Burnt by the Sun” by Nikita Mikhalkov, starred in the film “Berlin Express” and the television series “Waiting Room”. At the same time, he no longer received real pleasure from filming, the cardinal change of spiritual values in the society that took place in our country caused the actor to have very strong internal discomfort. In the last years of his life, he practically did not act in films. But his two works were still very memorable - this is the role in the film “A Writing for Victory Day” (1998 year) by director Sergei Ursulyak and the role of God in the film “Andersen. Life without Love ”(2006 year) by Eldar Ryazanov. Painting Ryazanov was his last appearance on the silver screen.

The great Soviet and Russian actor died on December 4 2009 of the year on 82-th year of life. 8 December he funeral in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, and then in the House of Cinema held a civil memorial service, on the same day he was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery in Moscow. In 2013, a beautiful monument by Alexei Blagovestnova appeared on the grave of the actor. In the monument, the sculptor managed to convey the versatility of talent that Vyacheslav Vasilyevich Tikhonov had.

In the anniversary year for the artist in his hometown of Pavlovsk Posad, a number of events are planned, the central of which will be the opening of the Vyacheslav Tikhonov's house-museum, reports the television channel "WORLD 24". The museum dedicated to the People's Artist of the USSR will be located in a wooden building on Volodarsky Street, where the actor used to live. The museum exhibition will include furniture, personal belongings of the artist, photographs in film images, stage costumes, posters. It is assumed that the museum will take the first visitors to the Day of Russian Cinema, August 27 2018. Near the house-museum the city authorities are going to break the square, as well as to equip the pedestrian zone. Over time, a monument to the famous actor may appear in the park.

Residents and guests of Moscow will be able to enjoy the pictures with the participation of Vyacheslav Tikhonov. Cinemas of the capital specially for the 90 anniversary of the birth of the actor prepared for the show the best films with his participation. “Inborn charisma and aristocracy made Vyacheslav Tikhonov the idol of several generations of viewers in our country,” said Svetlana Maksimchenko, general director of the oldest cinema organization, Moscow Cinema, in an interview with TASS. In retrospect of films with the participation of the People's Artist of the USSR, viewers will see his most famous roles. And on February 11 there will be an unofficial premiere of a Chinese feature film featuring Vyacheslav Tikhonov's Red Swan (1995). This film has never been shown in Russia before.

For me, Vyacheslav Tikhonov is a model of a real intellectual ... this is that rare case when a person’s appearance corresponds to his inner content ... everything is fine in him and his mind and conscience and appearance.

Vyacheslav Tikhonov is one of a galaxy of prominent Soviet actors, I’m still watching films with his participation, when “17 Moments of Spring” came out, the streets simply froze, and then we children played in the Germans and there was happiness to the kid who happened to be Stirlitz. A " War and Peace. "Prince Andrei Bolkonsky, there’s just no word how brilliantly embodied the image of Vyacheslav Vasilievich. In early 2000, the Russian-French adaptation of the film adaptation of" War and Peace "came out to watch her just time to lose. Eternal Memory to Vyacheslav Vasilyevich. Yes soldier

Not a single negative character, but it is a pity, one more facet of his huge talent would be highlighted. Charming bastards play harder than a goodie, in my opinion!

What impoverished his talent, and all right, the fact that nature and labor created enough for a long memory and people's love!

As a child, we watched many of these listed films as boys. "Thirst" - remembered because of the song "Two Shores", which sounded this film. This song was loved by my mother. And the film itself, about the war, about scouts, still made an impression. I completely agree with the author that Vyacheslav Tikhonov was a great actor, and Morozov- "It was in Penkov," and his last works

One of my favorite actors. He did not play a role, he simply lived on the screen. His warm voice and ability to say with his eyes is very much. How he could watch! Even every gesture, every detail makes sense; it is not accidental. You always see the experience ... Great actor!
But this scene, where he sings to himself ... but under the button accordion .....

It is difficult to say which film with the participation of V.V. Tikhonov is better. Personally, I think, nevertheless, "White Bim ...". It is multifaceted, both the work itself and life on the screen of the Actor. For some reason, it was in Soviet cinema that the images lived, but they were not played. Everlasting memory.

I watched his interview shortly before his death. It looked godlike, beautiful, despite its age. Only real people can look like this before their end. I recall my mother, she liked Tikhonov “Stirlitz” in German uniform and Lyubshin “Weiss” in the same.

I didn’t see the interview, but in later roles I watched. Again ---- my mother called. He always looked somehow noble. The word godlike did not occur to me. Mom said the day before yesterday ---- like a celestial.
And remember ----- MICHMAN PANIN !!!!! This is a movie where I saw him for the first time !!!!! Better than this movie ----- no.!

Dmitry, hi , the expression "godlike" is not mine. So on Tikhonov, Yankovsky spoke singer Nikolai Noskov. I thought about it, but it is so.
And he gave Tikhonov’s interview in his house in the Moscow Region, not long before his death.

Great actor. His summer house was next to the sanatorium of the KGB "Kratovo". Once they brought him there with a heart attack. The doctor on duty, filling out the card without raising his eyes to the patient, out of habit asked: “Rank?” To which Tikhonov answered “Standartenfuhrer”.

And how did Ivan Lapikov play there? "They fought for their homeland," I mean. Macedonian - came, saw, inherited. Yes, the film by the constellation of actors has practically no equal. All Stars.
