First in stories combat destruction of an inflatable layout tank held in Syria. The Kurds were seduced by the trick of the Turks and fired an anti-tank missile at the inflatable simulator of the Leopard tank. It is noteworthy that the Kurds used ATGM Iranian-made Toophan-1, which is a copy of the famous American complex BGM-71 TOW.
Until today, it was believed that only the Russian army had "inflatable" military equipment in service. In addition to the tanks, the Russian military has models of the C-300 air defense systems, various radars, MiG-31, Su-27 fighters, as well as Topol-M strategic missile systems.
Dummies of military equipment are made of waterproof fabric. Inflatable models, like this technique, can reflect radio signals and simulate a working engine (for heat-guided missiles).
Since 2015, this “technique” has been regularly received by Russian troops.
