The war is not with doping, but with Russia
The latest events no longer hint, but openly confirm that we are not talking about any fight against doping. The point is the desire to humiliate Russia at any cost.
Of all the possible options for Russia that could have been supposed, the worst was realized.
Yes, our sports (and state) authorities lost, and lost with a crash.
The flag and the anthem will not be paid for the TV rights, but most of the team is not allowed to play, and the Russian Olympic Committee is not only removed, so 15 million dollars still remained.
But the refusal at the very last moment of Sergey Ustyugov, Anton Shipulin, Viktor Ana without announcing any reasons is simply a political mockery.
And what our “friend” Thomas Bach said, the best confirmation of my words:
"The commission did not act as a judge. It carefully checked every case, and as a result Russia can be sure that only pure athletes will get to the games, and there will be no unpleasant surprises after the competition. Russia should appreciate this possibility."
Did you understand? We should appreciate this attitude and lick the hand that hits us on the tinsel. Otherwise it could be worse. Full rejection. Or kick your feet.
Valerie Fournayron, author of the suspensions and chairman of the independent body of the IOC:
“Non-inclusion in the list of those invited to the games does not necessarily mean that the athlete was caught using doping. This should not question their purity. ”
Is everyone clear? The reason for the suspension is not doping. The reason is that athletes:
a) Russians;
b) can win.

The most interesting thing is that in the rest of the world, everyone already understands that they are becoming participants in an offensive farce. And, by the way, as a hint for the future: you don't need a lot of independence, but it will be like with Russians.
But even if such an up-to-the-minute Russophobe, like Fourcade, says that there was a bust of Shipulin in full, it means that somewhere something from the shelf has fallen and broken.

Habitual regrets from the mouth of Peskov no longer want to give a place in the line. Peskov's statements are like a dash. Same everywhere.
The chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Education, Sport, Tourism and Youth Affairs, Mikhail Degtyarev, was one of the first representatives of the government (even if it was the legislature) who voiced that something had to be done with the situation.
“If there is no explanation, then perhaps the athletes will need to reconsider the decision regarding their participation in the Olympic Games in Pkhenchkhane.”
Indeed, I agree with Degtyarev that, on the one hand, they demonstrate simply marvelous abilities for negotiations and convictions, as a result of which the teams of North and South Korea will perform the same and under one flag.
This is great, this is welcome. But why such a one-sided position in relation to Russia?
The whole thing, apparently, is that the very leader of North Korea at the right time showed something that makes him treat him with respect. At a minimum - a rocket, which, in the event of the non-admission of its athletes to the games or the boycott of North Korea’s games, is quite realistic to launch into the Phenchhang region.
And - diplomatic moves, conversations, negotiations. About the result I have already said. United Korean teams at the games.

Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation:
"We saw these depressing news in media reports. Indeed, we deeply regret in this regard if such decisions are really made. We hope that, one way or another, the situation will become clearer, because, of course, in a limited mode, but still contacts with the IOC are made. We hope that in the course of these contacts it will be possible to clarify the situation with the famous athletes mentioned by us. "
But I thought it was a sinful thing that Zhukov or Mutko report such things ... Although, really, this is such a trifle, just another spit in the Russian political face, it’s really not worth distracting such busy people. The President will not break off, the Internet will go down.
Well, it is clear from here that at this rate, of course, it will be possible to clarify the situation. Year to 2022-th, in time for the next winter Olympic disgrace. Indeed, it is regrettable.
But what is more regrettable is that all those who allowed and contributed to this disgrace on the Russian side are still in their places. For their (I think, quite good) salaries.
This is something to regret ...
And having regretted, to begin a cruel but fair purge in the ranks of Olympic and sports officials. At all levels. In preparation for the next games, to which we may be admitted. Or will not allow that, most likely, and will be.
