Syrian special forces received the BTR-82 with a new laser searchlight

These armored personnel carriers are in service with one of the special forces of the military department of the SAR. Recently, the military received a new combat vehicle. “Outwardly, it differs from earlier versions in the installation of a Russian-made LP-1 laser searchlight. Earlier, such equipment was manufactured in Belarus, ”the material says.

Laser spotlight is designed for highlighting purposes. It is noted that in comparison with the old tube infrared illuminators, it is more reliable and less unmasks the technique.

According to the author, “LP-1 is capable of working up to 8 hours without a break, while it is not afraid of temperatures up to 60 ° C, which is very important, in extreme conditions of the Middle East.”

The incident occurred in the spring of 2017. As the court found, during the exercise, the BTR-82 was covered with a camouflage net, tarpaulin and dry grass for masking. It was they who caught fire when the soldier decided to cook dinner for himself.

Our special forces have been there for five years, no less. But for technology this is a short time.

GMMMM. Last month, an armored personnel carrier burned out in Russia due to the conscript warming up food near the car.

    LP-1, laser spotlight
Rostov Optical and Mechanical Plant, OJSC

The laser searchlight LP-1, built on the use of a high-power semiconductor emitter, is an infrared source for illuminating targets at night. The laser infrared searchlight LP-1 is designed to illuminate objects and terrain when working with night vision devices (night vision devices), including as part of sighting and observing complexes of passively active type of BTVT objects.
The laser projector LP-1 has an increased radiation power and an increased angle of vertical divergence of radiation.

    Technical specifications
Spectral range of laser radiation, µm 0,80÷0,85
Optical radiation power, W, not less than 0,3
Power consumption, W, no more - with the heating of the protective glass off: 15
Power consumption, W, no more - with protective glass heating on: 40
Overall dimensions, mm, not more than: height 108; width 174; length 262
Weight, kg, no more than 5
Detection range of a working searchlight with the naked eye outside the radiation target, m, no more than 100
The product works from the onboard network of direct voltage, V, 27
Ignition time of the laser source at a voltage of (22-29) V, sec, no more than 10
Time of continuous operation while maintaining the characteristics of the product (with a break of 1 hour), hour, not less than 8
    Average service life, years 10
Mean time between failures, hour, not less than 1200

So that’s why the Americans have a lot of bells and whistles, because they have a plug in every barrel.

Not in support of the previous speaker, but I would like to inform you in the order of information .... Fire extinguishers have come up with a long time ago that will put out anything, unless, of course, they taught to put out.

fire extinguishing equipment was probably in the car. I think it’s inconvenient to get it when the camouflage net and wheels burn on the machine.

From the outside, I think they do not catch, and next to another machine on the video is not visible, from which it would be possible to quickly get it
