The attack on the bases of the Russian Federation in Syria opened Pandora's box

On the night of 5 on 6 in January, insurgents of an unspecified terrorist group made a bold attack on the Russian contingent of troops in Syrian Hmeimim, as well as on the anti-tank logistics post in coastal Tartus. To do this, unmanned aerial vehicles with bombs were used. The attack was stopped: anti-aircraft weapons successfully detected and destroyed enemy targets at a safe distance.

Several UAVs were intercepted by EW and planted at a distance from Hmeimim airbase. This made it possible to thoroughly study the apparatus and to draw certain conclusions about their origin.

According to the Ministry of Defense, despite the artisanal method of producing these UAVs, the technologies used in them suggest a number of suspicions. Drones were assembled according to the classical scheme, while the area of the wings was significantly increased, which made it possible to take more payloads. UAVs had a rather complicated program code and were autonomously guided by the GPS signal.

That's why it is a war ... They shoot at it ... They fought off ... Well done ... Only defense is not the best way to wage a war ... It would be nice if something were added to the response ...

Well, now you don’t have to steal trucks and direct them to the crowd, carry heavy weapons into the hotel room and shoot at a crowd of people at a concert. I just bought a dozen airplanes, I got stuck and fly ...

I don’t know who wrote this, but if our MO, then it’s very sad for such releases and headlines. What a Pandora's box ?! Who discovered ?! fool
Well, if they shot down a few (supposedly), but
Several UAVs were intercepted by electronic warfare and landed at a distance from the Khmeimim air base

    and right there
UAVs had a rather complicated program code and were guided autonomously by GPS signal.

So you took control or did they fly autonomously ???
If you autonomously flew, then write it down - they say they put GPS jammers on the UAV route, they lost their course and fell at a distance from the base and were subsequently picked up and studied.
By the way, if they put electronic warfare on the path of the UAV, then where does the information about the direction of attack come from? Or was there no UAV?

Dear, just put everything together. Nevermind. MO just need to give clear correct information so that specialists do not constantly catch them on deception.
My opinion. No one took control. They just jammed it, but the interception was for beauty, some fell, detonated, some were not liquidated. The question is why, if the intelligence services of developed countries worked?

The control interception consisted in transferring the set gps coordinates

The Pandora’s Box — they gave terrorists a way to launch a terrorist attack — with drones, the technology for its manufacture and assembly, the list of necessary parts for the “designer,” software, the manufacture of aircraft bombs, etc. — all this together will allow the average trained barmaley on existing patterns to make such a weapon. Protection from which are only highly and specially protected objects with advanced electronic warfare - regime units, nuclear power plants and ... and that’s all.
The interception can be carried out and autonomous products having elements BCVK.
Jammers were not put along the route, - the area into which the UAVs flew was ALREADY covered by electronic warfare systems

I agree, let’s say the stadium is played by Real and Bars and there are a dozen of such airplanes directly into the stands ... but why, the coordinates are known, people are jam-packed ... Terrorists are profitable .. And there’s absolutely no risk, what kind of demonstration can be arranged or at the entrance with the metro at rush hour .. as a result of a panic there is a crush of hundreds, and oh, and thousands of victims, and again I will repeat no risk for the terrorists .. Neither martyrs, no one .. you can stupidly program quadrics on the timer and calmly leave the country, and in a few hours they’ll take off and on the given route will make them destined for them. Indeed Pandora’s box ...

Recently on VO there was an article. Unmanned aircraft attack by swarm. It spoke of small drones that print on a 3D printer. they are autonomous in management and are thrown off the airplane by container. Recent experiments about 1 thousand drones threw off the F16 and they flew on their own without external control, they themselves determined the target and attacked it. thanks to autonomous AI

Yes, it’s good to weird that, CHOOSE A GOAL ON THE INSTRUCTION OF AI.
And if this F16 is forced to dump a container over their own and then ???????? we’ll only hear some PIs.
The development of microelectronics and miniature keepers of information is not enough.
While this is not feasible without communication with the ship, a womb like AWAKS or the like.
Of course, if the watering principle ALL SHOWS WALKS AND SLIDES, then AI is not needed here, it is quite feasible

In general, judging by everything, just like we and our probable opponent in the SAr are rolling back their weapons on top of each other.
The strategy of a swarm of drones with explosive charges and striking elements has long been exaggerated in the circles of the defense and not only ours. We have now tested on us for readiness for a possible attack and how we will repel it, as well as possible flaws in the drone control systems.
The fact that there are intercepted drones already indicates that our electronic warfare systems are to some extent ready for such an attack and are strong enough, and therefore it is no longer worthwhile to use drones with a third-party control system.
Further, the conclusion is to draw a bias towards more flexible control from outside at a certain stage and complete independence at the stage of the glide path of bombing. With all the consequences of the elemental base and the power supply and positioning of the UAV as well as the source of the target base or the algorithm for recognizing them.
    something like that

Yes you are right. We have prototypes ... Fully autonomous, geo-referenced. And as low-flying. So are free-falling drones. Kamikaze, as they are called. And this is not a secret. In a massive attack has not yet been applied. So for Hamas, or Hizbola.

We will wait until drones from an open box attack civilian objects in Europe and the USA. By the way, drug lords can use drones to import drugs across borders into the same USA.

And here, guys. Drawings FAU-1 is on the network freely. What prevents the creation of a cruise missile at the level of the Third Reich?

How to make a nuclear bomb is also known. But try to do ..)
      The technology is quite complicated.
So with the FAA you mentioned, you need fuel for a rocket, you need alloys and much more. This is not counting the fact that such a missile, modern air defense systems will be shot down as in exercises.
The danger of small drones lies precisely in their stealth and fairly easy accessibility.
The goal of terrorism is to spread fear, which is why destructive elements will not seek to build something bulky. They need to create an atmosphere of constant threat so that the layman does not feel safe.
So, with a high degree of probability, we can assume that the next wave of attacks of such drones will be in densely populated cities.
