The US administration is working on sanctions against the "Russian oligarchs" in the framework of the "Law on Counteracting the Enemies of America," reports Lenta.ru report statement of the Minister of Finance of the country Stephen Mnuchin.
We are working on it. They will be announced in the near future,
Mnuchin said at a briefing in the White House, responding to a question about the list of people who will be blacklisted.
Earlier it was reported that the list may include more than 50 people, and together with family members - up to 300. All of them are high-ranking officials and businessmen close to the leadership of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the US Democratic Party fears that Donald Trump will not want to apply restrictive measures to the Russians from the Kremlin report in order not to spoil relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Recall that in October, the US State Department 2017 published a list of 33 Russian enterprises, cooperation with which could threaten contractors with sanctions. New restrictions may be introduced in February of this year. Potential sanctions apply to all counterparties, regardless of the country of the legal entity or individual.
