Tested by Syria: tactical "Stone" in the center of Europe
9
Just over a year ago, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation placed the newest operational tactical complexes Iskander-M in the very center of Europe - in the Kaliningrad region. These actions were Russia's response to the deployment of components of the US anti-missile system in Poland and Romania.
OTRK Iskander-M is truly unique weapons. Its characteristics allow you to break through any defense at distances up to 500 km and strike at the very heart of the enemy. Its main purpose is the destruction of headquarters, large warehouses with weapons, communications centers, airfields and enemy air defense locations.
The Iskander-M can be equipped with two types of missiles: ballistic and cruise. Both, in turn, have a number of modifications.
As the Minister of Defense of Russia Sergey Shoigu said quite recently, this complex was baptized in the Syrian conflict.
