Putin's geopolitical genius: We are in the Mediterranean
10
Russian President Vladimir Putin met in the Kremlin with Russian military personnel who were particularly distinguished in the Syrian conflict. All of them received state awards. Putin stressed that the whole country was following the operation in Syria, while the military itself felt the sincere support of all Russian citizens.
The head of state compared the Syrian war with the 19 and 20 wars of centuries and said that, like in the past, the Russian army had fought back barbarians, freeing millions of people from oppression.
President Putin said that in spite of the order to begin withdrawing troops from Syria, the country remains a self-sufficient grouping that will be able to protect the interests of Russia in this country. At the same time, the logistics center in Tartus will be substantially expanded and will become a full-fledged base of the Russian Navy. It will become a guarantor in ensuring the security of Russia in one of the key areas.
