The large landing ship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation "Caesar Kunikov" before the march

11
Value fleet for Sevastopol it is impossible to overestimate. The city, which was built by A.V. Suvorov on the shores of the Akhtiar Bay as a base for Russian warships, by definition, is forever connected with them. In our time, too, if not everything, then a lot is connected with the fleet in Sevastopol.
Today we will visit the large landing ship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation "Caesar Kunikov", which I visited at the invitation of the command of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation on the eve of his march to participate in the spring activation of the Black Sea Naval Operational Interaction Group (ChVMG OV) "Bleksfor".

2. This is the first photo report from a large cycle about the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation based in Sevastopol.
In the report you will be able to learn about the warship itself, and to go inside it, having studied the armament, the premises and all that is hidden by the steel sides of the "Caesar Kunikov"

3. “Caesar Kunikov” (BDK-64) - a large landing ship of Project 775. The landing craft of this project, by design, is a multi-deck, flat-bottomed landing ship of the ocean zone with a forecastle and a developed aft superstructure. By design, it refers to ships made using the Ro-Ro system - with tank a deck that runs along the entire length of the ship. Its main purpose is the reception from the equipped or unequipped shore of tracked, wheeled and any military transport equipment and infantry units, transporting them by sea and landing both on the equipped and unequipped coast with a small slope of the bottom through an open bow device, as well as receiving from water , transportation by sea and launching of floating equipment through an open bow or stern device.
BDK "Caesar Kunikov" is part of the 197-th brigade of landing ships and is onboard number 158. Four BDK are based in Sevastopol - in addition to Caesar Kunikov, this is Novocherkassk, Yamal and Azov.
In 2008, the ship took part in the fighting of the Black Sea Fleet during the war in South Ossetia. 10 August 2008 was the flagship of the group of Russian ships (BDK "Caesar Kunikov", BDK "Saratov", MRK "Mirage" and MPK "Suzdalets"), which took the sea battle with a group of Georgian boats

4. Since the ship is a fighting one and operating it is not so easy to get on it. A fighter of the antiterrorist group is on duty round the clock at the ramp, which ensures the safety of the warship both at the port of registry and when entering the ports of foreign states.

5. We have with us a special admission of the command of the Black Sea Fleet command, but nevertheless it takes a little more time to observe all the formalities of the duty officers on board the BDK. Finally we are allowed to climb aboard.

6. BDK "Caesar Kunikov" was built in Gdansk (Poland) (serial number 775 / 23). 30 entered into force on September 1986 g. And entered the Black Sea Fleet.
10 May 1989 The ship was renamed and received a new name - "Caesar Kunikov".
At present, the large landing ship Caesar Kunikov is part of the 197 Brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet's amphibious assault ships and actively participates in exercises and combat training activities of the fleet.

The ship can be used for setting minefields, for the delivery of humanitarian aid and the evacuation of people from dangerous areas. In addition, the amphibious assault ship can be used for military shipments, providing ships and fleet parts at distribution points.

The fact is that the command of this international unit is each year transferred to the participating countries in turn. In August last year, the Russian side joined the command of Bleksifor and during the spring activation of 2012, the Caesar Kunikov DBK was the flagship of ChVMG
At the usual time, there are meetings of the command of the ship with the officers, as well as the meal officers of the ship.

The antiterrorist group is recruited from a separate brigade of marines of the Black Sea Fleet to ensure the safety of the ship when parked in foreign ports and during the passage of torrential zones and other narrows.
The fighters sleep in three-tiered beds. It also houses their uniforms and special equipment.

35. Tvindek or tank hold is located at the bottom of the ship.
BDK "Caesar Kunikov" can be used with different loading options: 150 man landing and 10 type T-55 tanks with crew in 40 man; 12 amphibious tank PT-76 with crew in 36 man. The ship is able to carry cargo weighing 650 t over a distance of 4700 miles and swim in all non-freezing seas and oceans without restrictions.
The landing party is placed in a tank hold of 95 m length and can be landed on an equipped, unequipped coast or on a sea surface at sea conditions up to 4 points and wind strength up to 5 points. The personnel of the landing is located in several cabins and 4-local officer cabins.
The landing is carried out with the help of a nasal landing device, which includes a nose gate and a ramp. The landing with non-floating technical equipment can be carried out directly on the equipped or unequipped coast with a minimum slope of the bottom 2 – 3 degrees. The presence of a nasal ramp and aft gate allows you to connect several ships to create a kind of "bridge"

45. On the morning of April 5 2012 of the year, giving up the moorings, the BDK "Caesar Kunikov" left Sevastopol and headed for the Romanian Constanza, where the official launch of the Black Sea Naval Operations Team (ChVMG OV) "Blacksfor" was today.

The exercise will be attended by the frigate of the Turkish Navy Yavuz, the naval minesweeper of the Ukrainian Navy Cherkasy, the BDK Caesar Kunikov, the small rocket ships of the Black Sea Fleet Mirage and Shtil, the rescue tug Shakhtar, the hydrographic ship GS-86. The ships of the multinational force in practice will work out the elements of an unscheduled collection of ČVMG to solve the suddenly arisen task of assisting a ship in distress.

BDK Caesar Kunikov

47. It is expected that the spring activation of Bleksifor will last until 24 of April. The ships of the Black Sea countries except for Constanta will visit Sevastopol and Istanbul

BDK Caesar Kunikov

48. For reference: the Black Sea Naval Operational Interaction Group “Blackseafor” was established on 2 on April 2001 in Istanbul. The Black Sea countries - Bulgaria, Georgia, the Russian Federation, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine, expressing “readiness to contribute to regional security and stability and strengthening good-neighborly relations”, agreed to form an international ship connection. The goals of its creation were the further strengthening of friendship, good relations and mutual trust among the littoral states of the Black Sea.

The ship, of course, is not new, and the equipment at the post of energy and survivability is a bit old. But everything is well-groomed and in working condition everywhere, well done sailors!

Well done Chernomortsy, good luck guys and 7 feet. But the "comrades" who are engaged in outfitting need to stuff their faces. They could at least equip the marine unit normally, the bulletproof vest is old. sample form is worn out etc. To equip all officials in such equipment, maybe they would wiser. drinks

Once again I am convinced that a battleship is the most complex mechanism! To the author - respect and "+". smile
But only the sources of Sevastopol and the Chenomorsk fleet were Prince Potemkin-Tauride, and not Suvorov ... wink Well, yes, however, this inaccuracy did not at all spoil the general positive mood from the publication ... smile
