According to experts, the combat effectiveness of the aircraft should grow 2,5 times. It is planned that the new modification of the aircraft will receive a specially designed long-range cruise missile.

In addition to the flagship, upgrading are the strategic missile-carrying bombers Tu-95MS and long-range supersonic Tu-22М3. All of these machines were baptized in Syria.
