        At the same time, at the initial design stage in the early 2000s, MC-21 winglets were provided for (photo of the airplane model in the article title), i.e., the wing structure did not allow to obtain the required fuel efficiency. But as the project developed, new materials and technologies appeared, they were abandoned, and precisely because the MS-21 is a modern and technologically advanced aircraft with high aerodynamic quality that does not require any geometry changes at the ends of its wings.
