Uralvagonzavod during negotiations at Defexpo-2012 reached an agreement on the possible acquisition of Russian weapons, including the T-90MS tank

ARMS-TASS. The Russian modernized T-90MS tank, first presented at the Defexpo India-2012 international exhibition of land and sea weapons, which took place from 29 March to 1 in April in New Delhi, aroused great interest among potential customers. This was reported today by ITAR-TASS in the press service of the research and production corporation Uralvagonzavod.

"The T-90MS tank aroused particular interest among Indian and foreign exhibitors. During the work of Defexpo 2012, the exposition was visited by the leadership of the Indian Ministry of Defense, as well as official delegations from European, Asian and African countries. Opening the presentation of the modernized tank T-90mS, General Director of Uralvagonzavod Oleg Sienko noted that Russia has always been and remains the leader in the production of high-quality weapons, which is in demand on the world market, the press service said.

According to Indian and other foreign experts, the presented sample of the new tank confirmed the undoubted leadership of Russian tank building in the creation of promising models of armored vehicles.

"During the presentations and negotiations between foreign delegations and the management of Uralvagonzavod, agreements were reached on implementing a number of programs aimed at acquiring Russian weapons, including the T-90MS tank," the press service noted.

The upgraded T-90MS differs from the previous version by a more powerful engine, enhanced protection, which in addition to traditional armor includes an electromagnetic protection system. The new tank also installed a new fire control system, improved protection system and chassis.

"Uralvagonzavod" well done thought and refined. India is clear, but who else is interested in the tank, it would be good Syria and Iran would buy there and check what kind of animal it is

It must be called the T-92. And there will be less confusion, and from the point of view of marketing, positioning as a new machine.

No, that’s not so. T-100 should be called a brand new car. The same Armata, for example.
A 92 - indicates a deep modernization. Deeper than the one reported by the letter prefixes.

101,102 - further modifications of Almaty.

Armata is the name of a universal platform. You can install a lot of things on it and each product should be somehow named.

The tank was undeniably very successful! He's probably one of the best, if not the best, in the world. I think when the Indians see Armata, they will simply be "torn" by feelings. smile

T-90MS brought to the market Kakraz after the approval of Almaty. Apparently this is no accident. It is necessary to sell until it is out of date and has not fallen in price.

The stronghold, which is the development of the t-80, is currently superior to the modernized t-72, which, for marketing reasons, is given out as a completely new t-90, which it cannot be considered ... no need to give out wishful thinking ... no specific contracts for signed, the queue for t-72-90 - 190 .... not lined UVZ again stirs up water.

Reading the available specifications of the T-90 MS, I see a machine of the most modern level. I can not give an accurate assessment or comparison.
But still, India is the Russian market and if they can get the Indians to get away with MS and refuse the project Arjun 2 or worse, purchase Western models of BTT like Leopard 2A7, I will be glad, as this will give an impetus to the tank builder market and will be a convincing signal to rearmament. Where can the Ukrainian tank industry participate if we have nothing to catch on our domestic market?
And as for the press release, I would be surprised if it weren’t or it would have been written in a different tone.

The Chinese still have Types 59 in service - tanks of the 40-50s of the last century! laughing
Now is not the time of the USSR - the army needs only the most modern weapons. Outdated samples are needed only in case of reserve, mobilization stock. Therefore, I believe that our people are right in doing so that they don’t buy everything in the army — it’s better to wait a couple of years — and buy a tank that is guaranteed to remain a machine that meets all the most modern requirements and realities (taking into account possible modernization) - 15 years - 20 minimum!
The same goes for many other types of weapons - but not all!
Let's say - Strategic Missile Forces - and missile defense, air defense - must always be in perfect condition and be fully equipped!

Shaw with the future "Armata" will come out - another question - especially since this is just a "cart", about the fighting compartment (tower) in a deserted version, you cannot hear something, so when "Armata" will grow to a full-fledged tank (if it grows) is unknown ... And here furniture makers from the Moscow region do not see the finished car. A low bow to the Indians, without them tank building would have completely collapsed.

EM protection is already interesting, I heard that some developments of EM protection for armored vehicles were underway in the scoop, maybe they raised the old drawings and did it, although maybe it's just a layer in the armor that damps the radio noise that interferes with the operation of electronic systems ..
Generally speaking, Russia is creating a lot of good weapons, many are trying to frighten the world with a Russian or red threat, although in fact the opposite is true, by creating effective weapons we are strengthening the world, in a country with a powerful and modern army, no one will tamper with its democracy!

The most tenacious and easy-to-use MBT is T-72, not without reason at the college in 92, according to the new MBT, it was T-72 (17 modifications) that was chosen, it is T-90, although there is a lot from T-80, but the essence the scheme is almost the same, I personally saw the T-72 in Grozny withstood 17 hits from RPGs and two from anti-tank guns, though the tank commander died, but the tank drove under its own power to the base, half of the engine wasn’t there, everything was turned around, there’s still a hole under the pagon two in the roof of the tower, ammunition thank God, before leaving, they laid it as it should, in general thanks to the Soviet steelworkers, not one such military performance characteristics will not pass from Western vehicles, Abrams is understandably shit, Leopard never participated in battles, the most painful topic of Western tanks is electronics, which are safely jammed and disabled by electronic warfare systems or electronic warfare systems dating back to 80 of the 23 Spectrum type , which is still under the stamp and few people know that for the T-90 a new type of ammunition was developed and safely classified, a highly kinetic projectile, a blank pierced a meter thick armor sheet!

The article is a completely thoughtless reprint of the Uralvagon press release, and even with a photograph of the T-90S, and not the tank in question. They did not conclude any contracts for the tank, as can be seen from the analysis of articles available in, for example, from the Russian newspaper.
The Indians back in Tagil looked at the modernized tank, but until the contract for the supply of a large assembly of the T-90S has been completed, they are unlikely to buy the modernized one. Moreover, he is in Russia in a single copy.
And the presentation of the tank in Delhi was disgusting
