First shots: rolling out a new Tu-160М2 hit the video

Kazan aviation plant them. Gorbunova announced the start of ground and flight tests of the new strategic bomber-bomber Tu-160M2. The aircraft was created on the basis of the unfinished Tu-160 airframe with serial number 0804. Actually, this is the only thing that the new bomber modification took from the previous one. Everything else, namely, a complex of on-board equipment, a communications system, electronic warfare and navigation, an arms control system, as well as engines, will be new. A new long-range cruise missile X-BD will be developed for the Tu-160M2.

    As far as I remember, this is the 3rd of the four fuselages remaining from the 90s in varying degrees of readiness. The workshops come to life, work is underway and they plan to do 2021 from scratch.
