About ten years ago, this topic was finally closed by the Petrel, so calling it a “promising” language does not turn.

      Right true.
Duplex did not show the expected results due to excessive design complexity.
It’s all the more stupid to put it on a ship, where it’s quite possible to organize water cooling of the barrel and not bother with a doublet.

UNIFICATION is in progress. "Coalition" does not remind you of anything?

Unification here can only be in caliber.
For ship systems are not so serious requirements for weight and dimensions. Hence the large rate of water-cooled rate and the large art cellar.

The power of the projectile, first of all. A 130 mm caliber projectile is not capable of destroying coastal fortifications. Even a 152 mm caliber projectile, which has twice the mass of explosives, does this "on the verge".
A caliber of 180 or even 203 mm would be optimal - but here the question of transportable ammunition already arises (which is better - 3 shells of 152 mm or one 180 mm? Obviously, three shells will cause more damage, even if the fortification can destroy only one of them. And cellar size and stacking weight will be comparable).
In second place is the range, but I think that it was not at the forefront.

What coastal fortifications are we talking about? Do you still live during the Russo-Japanese War?

to specialists: rate of fire - 15 rounds per minute; Ammunition - 70 Shots. Is this what happens, on 4 and a half minutes of battle? or am I not understanding something, confusing? Perhaps he also replenishes ammunition?

IMHO 70 shots is the capacity of the combat station of the automatic loader. and the total transportable ammunition for any more

Does it make sense to put a duplex on a ship?
A ship can afford a cooling system and achieve the required rate of fire, without complicating the art system with a second barrel.
