Latvian government approves new mobilization plan in case of war

The Government of Latvia on Tuesday at a closed meeting approved a new plan for mobilization, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
The Ministry of Defense has previously reported that this plan was prepared in accordance with the current defense policy documents, Cabinet regulations and operational planning documents of the National Armed Forces (NAF).
The plan is adapted to changes in the security situation and structural changes in NAF

The plan is prepared for a state of emergency or war and includes the deployment of National Armed Forces for partial or full combat readiness, command duties and logistical support.
Details of the plan were not disclosed, the information is secret. Latvia has been a NATO member since 2004.
As previously explained in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Latvia, the mobilization plan of the National Armed Forces (NAF) submitted will replace the outdated one adopted in 2006.
