Universal landing ships of the type "Surf" - a project of promising Russian UDC, developed by the Nevsky Design Bureau, which should be a substitute for the French UDC of the "Mistral" type.

Ships of the "Surf" type are designed to solve the problems of receiving, transporting and landing sea landing on the equipped and unequipped coast, involving both landing boats and helicopters. It is planned that all components of the ship will be domestic: both landing and landing equipment, and an air wing, and weapons system.
