The formal customer is the NATO NSPA (NATO Support & Procurement Agency) within the framework of the joint multinational European-NATO Multinational Multi-Role Tanker Transport Fleet (MMF) program to create a jointly operated fleet of tanker aircraft.

In June, 2017, Germany and Norway signed a memorandum of accession to the MMF program and now, as part of a joint purchase, ordered Airbus A5 MRTT tanker aircraft for joint operation for 330.

In 2016, two refiners ordered the Netherlands and Luxembourg to share. All aircraft must be delivered from 2020-th to 2022 year.

“In addition to refueling tasks, the new A330 MRTT should also be used to transport personnel and cargo and for medical evacuation. Operation will be carried out jointly by the participating countries of the MMF program by “buying” the appropriate required number of flight hours, ”the article says.

It is reported that, taking into account the German-Norwegian contract, the total number of orders for aircraft Airbus A330 MRTT tankers reached 56, of which 28 has already been delivered to the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Australia.

So bad that even rich Germany itself cannot buy five tankers? ? Type of tank in extinctions, will be rented from each other with the Norwegians together? ?

Cool, and who are the Norwegians going to refuel? Do they have powerful air forces? Or is it a hack on the side? Sharing ....

And this is not for "in which case." Make a little money, an older brother flies past. Goryachki is not enough, but here is Norway - would you like to refuel? Inexpensive ... Or Germany, depending on whose turn ....
