Iran has tested rockets

1
Iranian television showed detailed footage of the first test launch of a new ballistic missile conducted by 20 in August. According to Jaynes Defense Weekly, the Kiam-1 (Qiam-1) rocket is comparable in size to the Shahab-2, which is a modified version of the North Korean R-17 (SS-1 "Scud-C").

The rocket is equipped with an engine on liquid fuel, has no tail stabilizers, wings and nose rudders and can have four small engines in the tail section to control the initial part of the flight path. According to the head of the Aerospace Industries Organization of the Iranian Ministry of Defense, General Seyed Mehdi Farahi, this provides high flight speeds and the ability to launch Kiam-1 using various types of launchers.

The nose of the rocket has a form similar to the Shahab-3 rocket, which suggests the possibility of separating the warhead during the flight. Presumably the rocket was launched from a mobile launcher, but this is not officially confirmed. With correct estimates, the Kiam-1 rocket is a modernized version of the Shahab-2, with a length of 11,5 m, a diameter of 0,88 m and a starting mass of 6000-6200 kg. Estimated range of this version will be 500 km.

According to M. Farahi, the range of the Kiam-1 may vary depending on the task being performed and hit targets at different ranges in accordance with the flight program. The representative of the Ministry of Defense indicated that it was developed using stealth technology, and the time for its preparation for launch was minimized. In addition, 25 August in Iran tested the short-range missile "Fateh-110" of the third generation.

According to the Fars news agency, the rocket is a mobile operational-tactical missile system with a high-precision single-stage solid-fuel rocket and an advanced navigation and control system. The rocket was designed by the Aerospace Industry Organization of the Ministry of Defense of Iran.

According to the Iranian English-language television channel Press TV, the length of the rocket is 9 m (29 feet), the starting weight is 3500 kg (7700 pounds). Earlier it was reported that the range of "Fateh-110" is 150-200 km. According to Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi, the supply of Fateh-110 to the Armed Forces will begin in mid-September.

In recent years, the Iranian Defense Ministry has announced serious progress in the development of missile systems, including the Sajil solid-fuel two-stage ballistic missile, the Shahab medium-range ballistic missile (range up to 2000 km), Zelzal tactical missiles (range 200 km) and Fateh.

According to experts, reports on the development and equipping of the Armed Forces of the new types of armaments that are regularly appearing in national media are aimed at demonstrating the increased level of combat capability of the Iranian Armed Forces, which should become a deterrent against the intentions of the United States and Israel to use force against Tehran, which is implementing the nuclear weapons program weapons.
