Ukrainian tower on Chongar began broadcasting Russian radio to Ukraine
The event dedicated to information security was attended by the representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea, Boris Babin.
The head of the district administration said that he himself listens to Russian radio.
As previously reported RIA website News (Crimea), in February, Ukraine reported on a test mode of round-the-clock broadcasting to populated areas of the Kherson region and the Crimea from the 150 tee-meter tower near Chongar village. With its help, on the peninsula was planned to broadcast "Ukrainian Radio" (100,7 FM), "Meydan" (101,4 FM), "Crimea Realia" (105,9 FM) and "Kherson FM" (107,8 FM). The project cost the country 4 million dollars. However, the Ukrainian side did not succeed in realizing the dreams. In early September, the Minister of Internal Policy, Information and Communications of the Crimea, Dmitry Polonsky, said that independent Ukraine could not start broadcasting its channels in advance in the Russian region.
